Where it all began! The discerning Din Tai Fung fans will definitely agree that the food here is of slight better quality than overseas branches. Go for the xiao long bao & fried rice ! #ThomtoriEats
This shop isn’t as nice as most, but it’s the very first and gets crowded quick. Every once in a while a tour bus will stop right outside for the dumpling pilgrims to pay homage to this holy site!
Worth the wait in line ! We were two persons and had to wait for 90 minutes (just go to a cafe nearby) at around 12 pm but it was so worth it! Best xianlaobao are the pork and shrimp ones.
Go for the xiao long bao (truffle and pork ) and the spicy pork and shrimp wontons . Seaweed salad and mushroom salad are also good. Be prepared to wait for a while.
The original Din Tai Fung. Get here early on a week day (10am) and you must get pork soup dumplings , spicy shrimp and pork wontons , and the chocolate dumplings . Enjoy!
The Xiao Long Bao is divine! My friends and I also ordered the 红油抄手 and we left satisfied. The service in this place was superb and almost every waiter/waitress spoke English/Korean and Japanese.
The original location ! Get the original dumplings , spicy pork and chives dumplings , and some fried dumplings of your choice! The line goes by pretty quick even with the queue.
Besides their famous soup dumplings , you should try their chicken/beef soups , pork chop noodle soup , zhajiang mian, fish dumplings , shrimp & pork shumai , mini black sesame bun , mini taro bun
That’s a real place to visit. I adore the service. The staff is perfect like Swiss watches. And the food is perfect. Real top notch!
Din Tai Fung will always have my favorite soup dumplings . The Xinyi Rd. location is the original and the wait can be very long. Favorite soup dumplings are the shrimp with loofah. Try fried rice too!
The original Din Tai Fung store. Be prepared to wait at least 45 mins during lunch hour to get a table. XLB's are a must as well as other non dumpling items. Such as fried rice and Taro buns .
The original. Classic flavors unique to it's location. Small venue , but cozy and very efficient. Great service. Get the house special shrimp and pork wontons .
Go before 11 to beat the lunch and tourist rush. Try the shrimp and squash xiaolongbao and the taro desserts xiaolongbao .
They have a waiting app which will send you 3 push notifications prior to your number being called. You do have to physically go and get a number first tho, then just scan the QR code in the app.
The OG of Din Tai Fung. On Monday, the queue was 2 hours. But if you don’t mind share table they can allocate you a spot if available.Great service.Quality food&better than overseas branch.
Try coming here during off-peak hrs. But if you visit while there's a big line ...the wait is worth it. Enjoy walking around the area a bit during your wait, and the number system is helpful, too
The legendary xiaolongbao are worth a try. This is the original Din Tai Fung that started the famous international chain. It's a bit pricey but worth to check it out. Staff speak many languages.
I ate XLB and others in NOV 2010. I think this restaurant is the highlight for foodie travel to Taipei ! Absolutely fantastic ! Vegetable is also yum as well . See the link for the photo ! Read more
Food asides, Din Tai Fung is famous for its bathroom which is exceptionally clean with seats that warms. Complete your experience with a rare opportunity to enjoy this highly sought after facility.
I've always avoided the original location due to the crowds, but there's no line if you get there right when they open! (a few minutes before 10am on weekdays) XLB breakfast ftw.
Excellent dumplings . This location was very crowded but the food was worth the wait.
The original Din Tai Fung, home of the xiao long bao / soup dumpling . Long queues but ask for a seat at one of the communal tables to skip the line !
The OG din tai fung, sometimes you can get seated earlier if you are willing to share.
Really fast and efficient! 小笼包 is freshly made ( and juicy ) and so is their 蒸饺! Two thumbs up for Din Tai Fung.
Probably nothing to say that hasn't already been said. Get all the classics. Food is amazing. Long wait , so we just grabbed take out . Only took 20 minutes.
It takes much time on waiting in line coz there are many japanese and korean tourists visiting. But it is worthy!
xiao long pao are the greatest dumplings ever and anywhere! No better you can have than here in Taipei! Enjoy! Just be patiënt enough because waiting time is approx 60-80minutes!!
Absolutely stunning taste! If you looking for taiwanese dumplings or beef noodles , you totally should visit this place! ❤️
Long queues. Expect at least 1 hour wait on weekdays. This is where it all started. Must try the staples and definitely recommended.
Original xiao long bao restaurant . Come a bit late and you don't need to wait that long. Staff are just too fast that might stress you a bit and you would eat it faster than normal. Worth to try once.
Just don't miss their seasonal dishes if you are lucky to find them there. Their stir-fry vegetible dishes were my favorite.
If you come to Taiwan, you must come to this restaurant ! For my friends&I, it's worth to wait 20 minutes for a table. I think Taro xiao long pao is so yummy!
Almost anything is recommendable. But please do order Xia Long Bao (=pork !), that is really awesome!
If you are in Taiwan, you have to eat at Din Tai Fung! Its the most famous restaurant in Taiwan. Their specialty is xiao long bao (小籠包), soup filled steamed dumplings .
The best 小籠包。and they should have credit card payment instead of cash only .
Waits range from 50-150 minutes. Get your number and take a walk down Yong Kang. Better than HK and Japan locations; worth the wait
we "waited" two hours, but got to walk around da'an district in the interim--the xiaolongbao are probably slightly overrated, but it's a fantastic experience!
Gotta wait a long time if you hit peak hours. Xiaolongbao !! The waiters can practically speak any language...amazing
It's packed during lunch hours, be prepared to wait. After trying this and Malaysia's Pavilion Din Tai Fung, I'd have to say I prefer Pavilion's version of the xiao long bao which has a thinner skin.
Nothing like having the original. Must visit when in Taiwan. The staff is the most courteous and responsive people ever.
XLB are to die for. Everything is amazing.
This Din Tai Fung is the original. Get there early, get a number, and expect a long wait !
Stuffed. Love everything everytime. Better with a big group. Although i do prefer other locations instead of this one.
Must visit for loyal Din Tai Fungers, get the Taro Dumpling to finish off a great meal
Come during off-hours for a shorter wait. Order: xiao long bao and pork chop fried rice .
Long queue for dine in. The Xiao Long Bao is the best.
Soup dumplings it's really tasty ! Especially the luffa soup dumplings is my favorite ! The beef soup is really good too!
very friendly service ! recommended ratio for dumpling dipping sauce : 1 part soy sauce & 3 parts vinegar
My favourites remain the black truffle pork xiao long bao , spicy pork wontons and thesesame buns for dessert ! Grmpf!
fried rice with pork chop , spicy shrimp dumplings , truffle chicken soup , taro dumplings
Aside from the XLB, go for the beef tortilla rolls. Sooo good! You can never go wrong with this place! - Rain Tan
Their boiled and fried dumplings are delicious. I was surprised how subtle the basil fried dumplings were. Also, try their “everything” dry noodle. Get there early as they sell out of items. - Teresa
Steamed dumplings are the best! Also, try their beef egg soup - Jimmy Chun-Hsien Fu
The mango snowflake ice & panna cotta is $190NTD and crazy good. Definitely shareable though! - Kim Pham
Amazing view! Going up is so fast, but there's a long que for coming down. Try Taiwan beer with Mango ice cream in it???? - Victoria Huh
Nice spacious place to chill and also do some photography. Best time to come is in the late afternoon and early evening - 高手놀리밑™
