The zoo is awesome (and improving! I can't wait to see the new penguin exhibit this fall!)! The membership is well worth it, especially if you have children that enjoy the zoo like mine does.
Stay cool at the Zoo this August! Every Tuesday guests will receive a 25% discount admission and every Thursday the Zoo stays open until 7pm, offering live music as you stroll through the park .
Be sure to visit the new Penguin Coast - a great learning experience and the African penguins are not bad, either!
There is an African watering hole includes rhinos, zebras, leopards, cheetah, chimpanzees . Walk through #1-rated Children's Zoo , the Maryland Wilderness and visit the arctic at Polar Bear Watch.
Haven't been here in 10 years...not as nice as the DC zoo but still a really nice chill place to walk around. The Africa section is definitely the highlight

Chimpanzee house and the sifakas are adorable. Great kid friendly zoo . A manageable morning trip. You can see animals up close. I think it's better than the national zoo !
Love the Baltimore Zoo been a member for about 15 years. If you have never been here its a must visit for Baltimore
Our zoo is amazing! I love it! Don't listen to the snobs who say its boring or dirty . Sorry our animals don't recreate animal planet scenes.
Very cool zoo ! Read reviews that it's too small, nonsense! Great for a ages, lots of variety. Love the ostriches.
Opened in 1876, this is generally considered to be the third oldest zoological park in the U.S. This zoo breeds the greatest number of African black footed penguins.
Nice settings. Could use more exhibits , expanded space for some like cheetahs. See before and after what fort worth did a number of years back.
We love the children section it is very interactive.
The guys at the food kiosk by the giraffes and elephants offer the best customer service in the whole zoo !
What a great zoo ! Absolutely must check out the Maryland Wildlife section.
I was actually pleasantly surprised at the amount of animals that this zoo had to offer.
This zoo is friggin' awesome. They have polar bears AND penguins. You can feed giraffes , AND YOU CAN RIDE A CAMEL! A camel. Ride it.
Membership is great. You can enjoy the zoo whenever you want. Check out the kids petting zoo . Great fun
I love this zoo , I like it better than the one in DC..
If you come more than twice a year, the membership is usually a good value
Gift shop is not inside the zoo . Makes no since so if you enter through the back gates you have to ride a tram to get to the gift shop .
Input into car's navigation Gynns Falls Parkway and Swan Drive as the intersection for the Zoo 's entrance.
You can get scary close to the giraffes !
Feed the giraffes for $2 - they come running and take a branch from your hand
Great for birthday parties for kids
My daughter had a extravaganza/party here .!!!!!!Awesome well its what u make it.
Great family fun.
FONZ Members, they don't offer you free admission any longer due to a "severed relationship" between the Maryland Zoo and the National Zoo . Bummer.
There are baby monkeys and baby goats ! Check them out!
Season passes are best options for big familys like mines.HANDS DOWN
This place is fun for the entire family
Arrive early and avoid crowds :) be sure to check out the frogs in the chimpanzee forest !
The zoo was almost empty, just got to see a few animals, a lot of exhibitions were closed. Really disappointed!!
This children's zoo is considered one of the best in the United States .
They should charge less. African exhibit is under construction . No zebras or rhinos. The aviary is closed. Under construction . The children's area is weak. Building a new penguin exhibit as well .
Watch out for the polar bears . Your kids might get an eyeful and have some questions for you....
High quality zoo
Bring your own drinks & snacks because most off the vending machines are broken or empty. Also, the concession near the elephants is closed.
