"A borrowed book is but a cheap pleasure, an unappreciated and unsatisfactory tool. To know the true value of books ... you must feel the sweet delight of buying them."
Aptly named as Faulkner lived in the main room . Great selection of first editions if you're looking to woo a bibliophile. Small & well-curated especially with poetry & southern fiction/history.
The famous author's former home is tucked in a tiny alley. It's now a pleasingly warren-like bookstore , which stocks city-specific tomes, loads of classics and, yes, a sweeping selection of Faulkner.
As I lay drinking on the old iron bench , posing myself (as well as I could) to imply to the law's minions that I was not, in fact, loitering, I lost my liquid lunch all over the adjacent tourist .
Great little bookstore that is steeped in history in a lovely setting.
Visit for the history, not necessarily the book selection.
Could be creepy if you visit it with one of those hunted tours ! ????
Great little bookstore . Faulkner once lived in the main room which is now the bookstore .
I love this bookstore for their floor to ceiling bookshelves and their extensive collection of New Orleans books
If you want New Orleans history books , this is the place to go! If you want anything else...well ...
Small place, great history, floor-to-ceiling books .
