You would think in this area they could be a bit more upscale and with that I mean how about a nice deli and fresh fish section?

Since WFs was closed, I went to 17th & Corcoran Safeway. Lots more improvements there -- even after major renovations a few years ago. Staff was friendly too.

I literally only go here because it is the closest grocery to me.

Small but cheaper than whole foods.... Come on off hours if you don't want to be miserable.

This store has rats , and the only bathroom is only accessible by walking through the butcher kitchen. Very unsanitary.

The flower stand by Dupont Circle Metro has a better selection and the flowers are fresher.

I hadn't been here in years & now I know why. The "Soviet Safeway" is still "Soviet." even after the renovation.

Needs greater effort to keep store well-stocked--because of volume of shoppers. Needs improved prepared food & deli . Food doesn't look attractive , so I assume it tastes like it looks.

They give you a hard time if you ask them to slice the deli meat fresh but insist anyways!

They don’t sell alcohol after 9pm on Saturday.

In Soviet Safeway, fruit picks you! ... because there's no selection, that is.

Great selection for such a small store but the staff is ambivalent at best and rude at worst. Avoid unless you can't go elsewhere.

If only Safeway could add a second floor.
