In 1948 opende Dirk van den Broek aan het Mercatorplein in Amsterdam de eerste zelfbedieningswinkel en in 1953 opende Dirk van den Broek de eerste supermarkt in Amsterdam. Tegenwoordig bestaat de supermarktformule Dirk van den Broek uit meer dan 100 winkels met een discount serviceformule.

Good choice of products at good prices
Large grocery store that also carries a selection of homeward products. Additionally, separate liquor store inside.
Average supermarket , as unimpressive as any other we've found in Amsterdam so far.
Now accepting cash at 2 self checkout machines!

Decent prices and good choice. The odd random folk of de Pijp seem to hang out here though.
This year, I've been accused of theft twice, I've done nothing wrong. They pick me out because of the way I look/dress, employees are stupid and plain rude. We all know what happened in 2003 :-(
