This palace was the chief residence of the bishops of Winchester . The last great occasion was on 25 July 1554, when Queen Mary and Philip II of Spain held their wedding breakfast in the East Hall.

Sit on one of the benches along the Cathedral wall in the Inner Close and watch the world go by while basking in the sun. If you’re lucky, you can also hear music from inside the Cathedral. - King Alf
