This Wetherspoon pub was originally the Savoy cinema . Designed by William Glenn, it opened in 1940 and was renamed the ABC in 1962, and then the Coronet in 1979, screening its last film in 1983.
The God's Waiting room! But i love this place! packed with great fun and emotional memories! comfy and wife seating for privacy! although not too private the spacing gives you that feeling!
Large space & everything you want from a Wetherspoons. Free tables can be a bit hard to find in the evenings, but good place for a drink & a cheap meal.
I experience feelings of unease in this former cinema . The projector that is still housed in the centre is said to turn on unaided and terrify drinkers with unwanted screenings of Big Mamma's House 2.
No service, not a very good burger with dry meat, however great environment (former theater ), good selection of beers and very good prices
One of the nicest 'spoons I've eve been in. Clean , huge and has very much a student vibe.
Old theatre , large on the inside abs wish I could enjoy a few more visits which is not possible due to COVID!
