You can walk underneath the building where there is an archeological site. You can learn about the architecture from the middleages. Put on something warm when you go, because it is cold out there.
Was the site of Brussel's original castle and was the home to Holy Roman Emperor Charles V . The complex was destroyed by fire in 1731.
This is one of the most interesting thing that Brussels has to offer. Make sure you confirm the door code at reception/ticket counter.

Surprising! Antique crossbow museum and shooting range run by a guild that has existed since 1381, right on the Place Royale. Very friendly bunch. Open Thursdays 8pm, free but reservation required. - Emily D.
