How I lost so much weight while having a full load of classes ? Simple! The student rec center. Opens 5:30a.m. until midnight! Take advantage of the free use as a UA student or $27/mo for nonstudents
Come to the Rec Center for Zumba ! There hours are Monday 6:15-7:05 pm, Tuesday 6-7am and 5:15-6:05 pm, Thursday 7:15-8:05 pm, Friday 12:10-12:50pm, and Saturday 11-11:50am. Get there early for a pass!
The cycling classes are my favorite! Be sure to get there early to reserve your pass and bring water because it's a workout! Only downside is limited parking and large crowds during peak hours.
Definitely try to go in the morning if you don't want to wait on machines. They also offer free classes so be sure to check those out. The climbing wall is free your first time as well .
Whenever I need a weekend away from campus, and I want to spend more time outside, I go rent everything we need from them. Sleeping bags are only $10 for the weekend, and a 2-person tent is only $12!
The rec has a 25-yard indoor lap pool , a cardiovascular area with 8 plasma screen TV 's and a 17,000 sq. ft. weight and fitness area. There are 2 rooms used for many classes that are no extra charge.
The free classes and steam room are the highlights of the Rec. It steadily gets busier and busier so early a.m. is the best time to workout. WARNING they ticket and boot there... you've been warned.
Yoga and Zumba classes are the best! Make sure to arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled class . Passes go fast. After I get my pass, I get on the elliptical for 20 minutes for a pre-workout.
The cycling classes are amazing! I also love working out on then elliptical . Morning workouts are the best because it gets really packed around noon and around 5pm.

If you're looking for a good sweat, there's a little bit of everything here including an indoor rock climbing gym ! (Shoes can be rented and are thoroughly cleaned .)
Total body sculpt and cycling classes will be sure to make you sweat, but they do the job. Make sure you bring at least a gallon of water!
Lots of group classes are offered, but they fill up very quickly so make sure you get there very early to get in line .
Whatever you do, don't go around noon or 5pm... place gets packed with a bunch of meatheads. My suggestion, go around 10am or after 7pm.
Their cycling classes are amazing and you can feel the workout! I definitely suggest that you try it!
with over 100 group exercise classes to choose from - there's something for all!
best place to workout because theres a sauna and group classes
We are busiest between 2PM-8PM, so come by early or late to make your workout great!
Come after 8 or so if you like it less crowded during the week.
Hard to work out here. It is always packed.
Good if you pick an odd time to go when it isn't so packed.
Take Hip Hop with Kristen! Amazing!
Addicted to the sauna .
Go to Zumba ! It rocks!
The weight room here is the best place to work out at UA. It's nowhere near as crowded as the rec - Amber Key
The UA Rec pool is the ultimate place to spend any sunny day. They are only open in summer/spring months, but have tons of space to lay out, waterslide and lazy river, and play music all day. - Katie Lamberth
Check out the awesome classes! Included with membership - Sara-Margaret Cates
