I have a campaign going. Daily tweets from me (@kristenritter) to @panynj including #LincolnTunnel. Asking them to FINALLY enforce double lines . Fine bad drivers. Join my campaign and drive change!

Shutterbug protip: As you exit the tunnel on the New York side, there's a sign immediately on the right welcoming you to Manhattan.

Marty Madrid

Just on the other side is the seven levels of the Candy Cane forest , the sea of swirly twirly gum drops, and then the North Pole!

Marianna A

People always ask me: can the Hudson leak into the tunnel ? No, the tunnel is about 100 ft below the river .

Jeeleighanne Duboius

Traffic all day every day.

Diego Urena

Make sure you drive straight through and you'll be fine!

Sharon H.

Since all the traffic post-Sandy has us at a standstill, wifi can be picked up near Mega-Bus & Peter Pan. Makes the 2 hour wait a little more tolerable... Just barely

Historical tunnel that connects commuters from Hoboken into Midtown Manhattan. One of the most efficient ways to get into and out of the city in a better route under the Hudson River

Welcome to the Big Apple! Consider adding Harlem on your list of places to visit while you're here. You'll be glad you did!

Have you ever had a bus forcefully rub into your vehicle? Aha~ but what about trying to recover damages? They're protected by the State of New Jersey and the Port Authority of NY & NJ! Don't even try!

MetroSeeker.com

The toll is always free heading out of NY. Heading into NY it is $12. Get an EZ Pass! You'll save a lot of money!

Steve Malone

The insiders know the best way to NYC is stay off the helix and take the back way through Weehawken. Take the last exit off 495 and follow the bus .

Cindy Ol

Cell phone reception excellent here!

Colleen Brady

Dam people let the bus in... Feeling it rock trying to make turn and held my breath we didn't turn on side .. Can't believe how many cars cut the driver off..

EJ Hassenfratz

Make a wish and If you hold your breath until the end of the tunnel your wish comes true!...or you lose consciousness and die a fiery death.

The Lincoln Tunnel is a 1.5-mile (2.4 km) long tunnel under the Hudson River , connecting Weehawken, New Jersey and the borough of Manhattan in New York City .

I pray that no one ever has to pee while in this tunnel during rush hour... Carry a water bottle just in case. *There is always a light at the end of the tunnel * #AlmostOut!

Goes underneath the Hudson River between Manhattan and New Jersey

Always take the bus . I mostly do. One AM I tapped a car in front of me when I was driving to work. No damage but it was a little scary thinking the woman may have wanted to make a big deal of it!

Kelly Ann Gonzales

While you're sitting in traffic , take a good look at Manhattan Skyline from the helix. The view is beautiful, especially at night. Just don't get too distracted. ;)

Cara

Hybrid cars pay half the toll if you use EZPASS, and only $2 for carpooling with EZPASS between 7-9am with 3 people ( hybrids are exempt from the minimum # of people)

Nick Damiano

It's not as nice as the seven levels of the candy cane forest or the sea of swirly twirly gumdrops ("Elf" reference).

Marlo G

Sometimes disconcerting if traffic coming toward you. If in left tube, when you get out, stay left to go uptown; right to go downtown. Right tube: stay left to go downtown. right to go uptown.

✨#IamRomdelacrème✨

The tunnel in aproximately 1.5 mile distance, connecting Manhattan and New Jersey . Enjoy the ride! Beep! Beep!

Cote Media

One of the few times on the road where surfing the web and checking email is perfectly acceptable. You're gonna be here for a while. Enjoy!

Bus drivers ---- PAY ATTENTION. Please don't be punching tickets and organizing your paperwork while driving commuters in. Dangerous practice!!!!

Elizabeth

Fun game: find a driver working on a laptop and then honk at them. That shiz is dangerous and so 1980. Get an iPad, dude!

John A

Stay in left lane to exit onto ramp to go above 42nd Street as you come out of tunnel in nyc.

Nikki Cawley

Surprisingly good cell service in the tunnel ! Was disappointed not to find swirly twirly gumdrops on the other side, just NJ.

stuart

If you are forced to travel in and out of NYC to reach a destination in NJ write your congressman and that fat bitch Christie and tell them to hire a REAL mass transit urban planner.

James Zimenoff

When heading towards NYC, stay towards the right tube to access 34th St. and downtown.

jon accarrino

Put your phone down, grab the steering wheel and keep your eyes on the road (unless you're on a bus ).

If you're a passenger on the bus , count all the tunnel lights out loud as they pass by. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

Carlos Meneses

Look for the self propelled Cat Walk Car, with the police dude riding it.

ᴡ Alvarez

This is a convemient way to go from New Jersey to Midtown Manhattan, NYC.

Juan Pablo CA

30 mins to move just half mile!! It was daylight when I took the first picture. Now is nightime in the second!

AT&T customers should now have LTE. Not too fond of the new light bulbs.

Ayaz Hyder

As the billboard used to say.....“Lincoln. Great President, Lousy Tunnel ”

funky flavor

It's a nightmare here Sundays BTW 6 and 9pm. Total standstill

Cesar Cravo

If you park at port authority garage there is direct access to tunnel back to jersey . This is a huge time saver.

Leslie Driskill

If you don’t shout “TUNNEL ” out the window as you drive through, you aren’t living right.

Riding Bean

Always busy, bus heavy, not the ideal tunnel if want to hear your exhaust if have a sporty car. Expensive, it's a tunnel from Jersey to New York, what do you expect?

Enid C

Nice skyline of the city . Get you camera ready.

Michael J. Perez

Hold your breath until the end of the tunnel and make a wish! ;)

April Lazarus

Don't ever work in NY & live in NJ! You will spend more time trying to get thru the Lincoln Tunnel then you ever will at home!

chrissy spaziano

it gets you to Manhatten

Leanne Lujan

Hold your nose. We are going under water in the tunnel . Windows up too...that dirt and smog inhalation will give you a third eye.

Zac N

Nice place to nap.
