When visiting this gallery , don't miss the bookstore at the entrance. There is also a nice coffee place and theater in the building.
Start straight from the French Collection on the 3rd floor. You'll find Sisley, Degas, Toulouse-Lautrec, Monet , Pissarro, Renoir, Cezanne, van Gogh , Gauguin, Picasso, Matisse, Chagall and others.
When visiting the Slav Epic hall, be sure to grab a leaflet (10 czk) - you won't be able to fully comprehend the paintings without it (btw, the title of the painting goes after the paragraph about it)
It’s all about visiting the “Slav epic” by Alphons Mucha. This is his masterwork and truly a monumental serie of 20 painting . Be ready for lines and to be pleased in enjoying this magnificent work.

Occupying an entire city block, this soviet-era building was transformed into a gallery that we could literally spend days browsing. The gallery now houses Mucha's Slav Epic, a must see.

Alfons Mucha's "The Slav Epic" is definitely worth the extra admission charge (180 CZK; 240 CZK with the regular exhibitions ). Mucha's paintings are in fact epic.
Picasso, Sezanne, Pisarro, Manet, Delacroix, Sisley and many others on the 3rd floor. Good Czech painters of all movements. Mucha's Slav epic was temporarily closed.
The English leaflet you get to the Slav Epic is a misprint. The headline for the paragraph describing the first painting is missing. So for info on canvas 2 you'll need to read chapter 1 and so on.
Slav epic was moved to this gallery in 2012. It is really magnificent! Absolutely breath taking. Just go there!
The outside of the building is not impressive but once you get in you'll change your mind. Huge spaces and interesting collections. Worth visiting!

Why this museum isn't in evry Prague travel guide is beyond me. Muchas Slav epic was probably the most awe-inspiring thing that I saw during my visit. Be ready to invest at least 4 hours here.

Beau musée, très bons choix d'expos temporaires. Au rdc , ne pas rater l'expo sur l ’Épopée Slave de Mucha, bel ensemble de toiles /images d’Épinal de plusieurs mètres de haut (nos ancêtres les slaves).
Enorme museo che raccoglie l'arte moderna e contemporanea. Oltre ad artisti stranieri ci sono anche molte opere di autori cechi: per adesso è sede dell'Epopea Slava di Mucha che vale il viaggio.
