Oakland Museum of California

This might be the best Bay Area museum I've been to yet. The exhibits are well done and interactive, and I appreciated the emphasis on storytelling. The history exhibits were my favorite. So good

Fantastic museum with a ton of exhibits . Personally loved the history one the most. There's so much content that you definitely have to come multiple times to see everything.

Friday nights 5 - 9 are half price admission foradults and people under 18 are free. You can bring in food truck treasures and nosh them on picnic tables downstairs with DJs playing and a cash bar .

Head here for First Fridays . You'll enjoy delicious food trucks (Senor Sigig), drinks, live music , and a family friendly atmosphere . Then head into the museum for 1/2 price adult and free kids.

3 in 1 museum . The history and the science sections are very well organized and interactive. Definitely worth a visit.

Annoyingly the gardens are closed during the Friday night event ... Grrr. One of the main reasons to visit this place. Great museum and Friday night event ... Otherwise...

What an amazing collection! I spent several hours at the museum and still didn't see everything. There are lots of interactive exhibits that would be great for kids.

Art , history and science all-in-one, this California-focused museum is a must. Bring your family here to explore the rich culture and environment of Cali in all its wonder.

Underrated museum that covers not only history, but art too. Gorgeous outdoor space not to be missed!

We enjoyed the California exhibit and were only able to get through 2/3rds of it before closing time so we're looking forward to coming back to seeing the rest!

Outside garden exhibit complements Museum very well . Right next to O-town's Chinatown so great place to go before or after!

Almost always a special show or artist in the gallery next to the Restaurant . The California History Display is a living presence-OUTSTANDING!

The exhibits are quite interesting and varied. But I think that $16 are a bit too much for it

The history section was nice, but a little too high-level -- probably better for kids. The café food was very good for a museum !

Lots to see it. Contemporary art , traditional, animals. PARK is a breeze.

Lots of History, not just about Oakland, the Bay Area, but California State as well .

They're super picky about reusable water bottles in the galleries ... You'd be best off hiding yours.

Suggested Thursday Night Live to a few clients from Clorox visiting from out of state for work, they enjoyed the art sen and wine !

Right now its the #AlteredState exhibit in Cannabis in California.

The artscape short film at the end of the Pixar exhibit is so awesome. Be sure to go see it.

checked out the un-opened history galleries today, should be awesome at the grand re-opening. so expansive, and so many artifacts .

Lesson learned. If the museum cafe is out of EVERYTHING you want, RUUUUN!!!
