Takoma Park-Silver Spring Food Co-Op (TPSS)

I've discovered that they now carry raw Shea butter and pressed Shea oil from Blue Nile on Georgia Ave. saves a trip and I know I'm getting the seat Shea butter in the area.

The selection of organic food , bulk herbs and grains, cheeses , and skincare products. Takeout section isn't bad, especially sushi . Some ethnic goods basics. They support local growers. But pricey .

TPSS also beats Whole Foods' prices on most herbs and supplements, even if you're not a member. Plus they have my favorite local organic tortilla chips , which I can't find at the major chains anymore.

They've recently begun carrying fresh made , hot pastry foods near the back. Get a samosa or spanakopita !

Amazing healthy food but I will say the Tacoma Park one can be pretty expensive for some things. For example the hotdogs with no preservatives or artificial tastes, it was 20 for packs of 6 hotdogs .

Mesob On Wheels is the food truck to hit if you like Ethiopian food . Wednesdays 5-8
