I can appreciate a historic bakery like this and they do have a lovely selection. But their staff is just borderline unpleasant, especially if you can't recite your order in under 2 seconds.
Nothing tastes better than fresh bread , especially when it's been baked the traditional way. The bakers at Himschoot bake during the night so you can enjoy fresh bread and pastries in the morning.
Very racistic staff . They don't mind talking about their opinions about other faiths and foreigners who moved here in front of the customers. I live in Ghent and will never return here.

try to go early in the morning, after noon, bread is not so great anymore. Little bit pricey and staff is quite cold.
Bestest bread in the whole wide world. (Try mastellen, but only if you've got an iron to heat 'em with.)

Nog een echte ambachtelijke bakker zoals vroeger met zeer veel speciale broodsoorten en lekkernijen . Bv notenbrood, 4 zaden,... Uniek, erg vers en lekker !!! Een must voor iedereen die Gent bezoekt.
Beste roggebrood van Gent. Chocoladebrood en zondagsbrood een aanrader.
€2,60 voor een suikerbrood vind ik zeker niet duur! Het is overheerlijk!
