The specialty rolls are amazing. Some of the best sushi of my life doesn't even contain fish ? I can't believe it.
Really impressive. Everything we ordered was unique and tasty. Don't miss the Oishitashi and the tempura eggplant . Nigiri are all wonderful - even the simplest avocado version. Nice touches all around
Beautiful decor and delicious food that showcases fresh veg and vibrant flavors. Try the "Surprise Ending " and make it a drinking game! Don't forget the ramen and the mochi for a parting sweet bite.
I don’t love vegan food , but this is as good as it gets for me. Don’t forget the “nigiri ”, it’s really well flavored and worth the $4/bite.
Open invitation roll: pumpkin tempura & renkon chips is wonderful. Surprise ending is yum but the novelty is the surprise spicy piece & soju shot. Spicy garlic ramen is solid.
Came here with LB. Loved the 3 rolls me + Nat + LB shared, including the happy ending one with the spice bomb and cashew milk . We got one with truffle and another. Garlic edamame incredible + karage .
Plant based sushi and ramen that will have you coming back at least weekly. The proud peacock roll is excellent and the garlic ramen is excellent easily one of the best in the city . Top class service
The specialty rolls were very good. Th skewers and the ramen and the nigiri were disappointing (as meat eaters), but the rolls were good.
Unique concept! Yummy food. I had the surprise ending roll and it was fun but SPICY . I also enjoyed the plum wine and the avocado nigiri which was delicately lemony. One hour wait on a Sunday evening.
THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. The open invitation role, and the shizen shiitake were the best. I'd highly recommend getting a mix of items from different menu areas.
This place rivals the best sushi place I've had in Chicago and it's all vegan . moving next door tomorrow! MUST TRY!! bring your non vegan friends. it's THAT mind blowing delicious :)
Not one bad thing! If you're w/ a group, play Russian Roulette with the "Surprise Ending ". The person who eats the spicy one takes a sake shot. Warning: holy balls it's hot! Shoyu ramen was gr8 too.
Good atmosphere for good conversation. The tea is great and complimentary (or they forgot to charge us!). Pass on the ramen . Gets busy if you try to come here after 6:30pm even on a Wednesday.
All vegan . Better than some non-vegan restaurants . Get the spicy miso ramen ! Also quite pricey ...
order the special rolls . and order all of them. i bring my meat eating friends here every time i’m in sf and they become obsessed. (even tho everything is vegan )
I know everyone's talking about the Candlestick roll but you gotta get the Shizen Shiitake from the hot section and the Boddy and Soul roll from the speciality rolls . Do it
Amazing vegan sushi . Recommend the garlic ramen and the specialty rolls . Also, the mushroom nigiri and the plum wine cocktail . Extensive sushi list as well .
Simply incredible sushi in a nicely designed space. Oh, and it's 100% vegan . What's not to like?
Great vegan sushi . Amongst the best sushi places I've been to, even non-vegan ones. I must've sampled at least half their menu now and all was great.
Everything is delicious. I'll never suffer as a vegan who loves sushi . I was surprised at how cheap the bill came out considering I was way too full at the end. Oh, and mochi .
The truffled okra nigiri is my favorite bite of food but I like everything I have ever eaten there. Also unfiltered sake is really good with the meal
LOVE!!!! first time here me and my friend were so excited and ate every speciality roll on the menu lol that was like two years ago and we have not been able to eat so much again. haha it's so GOOD
Awesome vegan sushi . The specialty rolls are particularly inventive.
No, this is not a joke. This completely vegan sushi is really very delicious. Go for rolls like the Scarlet Smile, Candlestick, Plot Twist, and Surprise Ending and read more on WinstonWanders below. Read more
Best Sushi in the whole planet, it doesn’t even feel or taste like vegan . Made may heart and soul very happy and satisfied ❤️❤️
Don’t bother going if you’re not vegan . The matcha and yuzu drink was good though. The “ramen ” noodles were too thick and the miso broth wasn’t rich enough. The green mango nigiri was underwhelming.
Everything is great here, especially the rolls. Pleasantly surprised by how cheap the place is.
Cool vegan Japanese spot; I'm a meat lover so I'll stick with my favs but great options if you don't eat animals! Cool vibe too
Highly recommend the spicy tofuna, and the eggplant nigiri . There was so much more I wanted to try, but I was really full.
It was delicious and affordable . Some of the rolls are quite fun. Get there early because you may have to wait for a table.
Hands down best vegan sushi in the city . Great atmosphere and great food.
Best vegan sushi that I've ever had. Best sushi restaurant that I've been to.
Try the Boddy & Soul. Shizen does a great job of taking vegan ingredients and turning them into delicious rolls, didn't even miss the fish .
I loved the Scarlet Smile, and my partner's favorite was the Philly Roll . Next time we're being adventurous and getting the one that's on fire!
Make sure you book ahead of time! You can use Yelp waitlist before you leave. The line is insane.
Long wait , but SO worth it! Go early. People line up before the restaurant opens. The wait is long. Be ready. Don't go later in the evening expecting to get on the waitlist. It cuts off!
They have surprisingly strong vegan offerings. As in, actual appetizers and dishes rather than a veggie roll alongside the avocado and cucumber ones.
This spicy roll was delicious and they made half without avocado for my parter's allergy. ????
Wow, everything was a gastronomical explosion in my mouth. The California roll , ramen , sangria sake . Good for dates and special occasions .
Despite the sweet sauce and unhealthiness, bravo for the clever and creative vegan dishes . Very impressed in that sense.
The spicy ramen is delicious, any of the special rolls and do get the mochi !
If you want vegan sushi that tastes just like American sushi , these guys got it hands down. Tastes just like it. Although, like American sushi , I’m don’t think this is healthy.

The sushi here is amazing.. but it's just not filling enough. Grabbed a slice of pizza at Arinell's after
If you must choose just one, the spicy tofuna roll is a good, simple place to start. Read more
The "pork belly " in the Spicy Garlic Ramen was amazing. Also, order the Surprise Ending--lots of fun!
Kale kimpira, peacock roll, and the surprise ending. So excellent! Be sure to save room for the mochi ~!
The tomato nigiri is exquisite.
Good vegan sushi ! Has ramen ! There usually a line , but you can sign up and walk around for text updates.
Philly Rolls and Avocado Rolls are awesome as well as the Ramen . Good sake here too but a little pricier .
Always a great vibe. Love the food and the prices. Never miss a trip to Ryoko's when I'm in town. - John Nichols
Garlic edamame is the best starter, along with the corn and oysters! The sea dragon roll is delicious - Mihika Verma
Hamachi truffle is a must-have starter. Shrek is also great to start. Can't go wrong with their omakase or nigiri tasting. - Jasper Fung
the tacos are so. good. the banana walnut ice cream, peanut butter twist and chocoholic are my favorites. - cami j.
One of the best hot chocolate I ever had, the also have real cocoa beans in the store. - Izabella
Awesome drinks (beer) and quite solid food options. The beer garden is just a great place to hang out on a Saturday (or any other). - Stephan Gensch
