Woo, no more drive to San Mateo ! Don't let the look fool you. The inside is nice and clean . Portions are huge so make sure to start off with a few items. And get the half and half soup !
2 bowls, 4 people/2 bowls, 6 people. Anything more or less isn't ideal. You can call to make a reservation for parties of 6 or more.
Asian people everywhere - all the way downstairs to the entrance because it's that busy. Friendly service and meat is not bad. Just needed a place to watch the game.
Best place for hotpot in the greater downtown area by far. Nothing is quite like the spicy broth . Bring spicy loving friends and get only the spicy broth !
They even have vegetarian option ! Let it boil for a bit, the flavor deepens. Good for the price!
Definitely go for the hot pot . And avoid to eat those spicy ingredients. There are there for the flavor. Its just great
Get the spicy broth and make sure you order a side of sauces (garlic , sesame paste , chili oil , special sauce )
Solid and reliable hot pot but the lines to get in are out of control. Joining the waitlist on Yelp doesn’t help much - you can still expect to spend 2 hours or more hanging out in the stairwell.
Bring your friends! Fabulous for groups. Lots of vegetarian options .
The meat portions are on the small side but great place for a sit down lunch . Also, not crowded .
The broth and the lamb are the very best! The portion is very generous!
As a spice fan, my spicy broth was impossible to eat. The server questioned my strength when telling me to remove (5 small bowls of!!) the red peppers from the soup . Terrible hot pot experience.
Spicy sour hot pot is my favorite, lamb dishes are the best.
Great food to warm up to cold SF nights.
Hot pot , especially the lamb .
The quail eggs are canned quail eggs . Not that bad but not as good as dropping a raw one in and getting a poached egg .
Always a line here. If you like spicy food , this is a good place.
Try the plum juice . It's smoky and amazing.
All you can eat tuesday nights, from a limited menu
So cool! Very nice experience
get the enoki mushrooms ????
Not recommended. Plain soup base cost you 4.25 per person. Very sneaky. Most of the items are 4, 5 bucks for small quantities. More expensive than others.
Pace yourself, prepare to stretch your stomach muscles
Lamb , beef , and broth.
Hot Pot picante , slides decordero wooow
You no longer have go to to San Mateo to get your hot pot fix
Shen Ji Hot-Pot !
Waiters rude and orders do not come after 1hr of repeated reminders! Hot soup fail!
confirmed. They have MSG in their soup base. Sad
The beef, lamb, or curry fishball are my favorites, but everything is good. Also usually order a side of sliced beef or Fuzhou fish balls. - Walter Korman
So good! A lot of food. Loved the chive pancakes, dumplings, all meets. Decent price. - Elad Ossadon
The happy hour deals were fantastic! Shabu shabu with waygu and pork belly with kimchi were both delicious. Would definitely come back! - Carrie Collins
Nice outdoor spot for concerts and a very excellent spot to eat lunch on nice sunny days - Bennett W Wong
Their specialities are fun to try out! We tried the Strawberry Matcha Latte (left) and the Strawberry Jasmine Fresca (right) ???? - Shannon Donnelly
Wifi is reasonable, mildly busy, cozy, ample power. They play instrumental/chill music mostly. The waffle smells amazing! - Kyle Olivo
