You don't need a museum ticket to get to the top, just a colonnade ticket. It's worth going inside but be warned; it's less cathedral more souvenir shop now!

Both the insides of the cathedral and the dome are open for public. Especially in the evening you get a great view accross the city from the dome.

For tickets: There are machines that sell them, and they usually have much smaller lines . Tip valid for the South side of the Church at least.

It's amazing piece of art . This building can be easily compared to the amazing masterpieces in Italy and France. A must see in STP!
