Our Derby bistrot was the second in our family, opening in 1996 in the city’s social hub on Friargate. It retains all the charm and intimacy you’d expect from a building that dates back to the 1600’s (as well as some of the ghostly tales you might also expect).

One of our favourite places for great value French cooking for breakfast , dinner & tea . We like the truly French bistrot classics such as boeuf bourguignon and Crème brûlée .
Been many times & it's always great food & great friendly service . Last night was 1st time for the gastronomic night . It's fantastic 6 delicious courses for £22.50 . Can't recommend it enough .
Between early bird, long weekend and lunch set menus you can dine well at a pocket friendly rate... Oh and it's all DELICIOUS!

Expectations were high and the welcome warm but sides arrived long after the under-seasoned steak with its lingering after-taste of old cooking oil was too cold to eat and disappointment soon set in.
Try the steak here. Very thick and perfectly cooked. As good as anywhere you will find.
