Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks

Tampa's largest Greek community can be found in Tarpon Springs. Walk among 100 shops & restaurants , watch boats return from the gulf with sponges, or head out for a deep sea fishing excursion!

Tarpon Springs is a very Greek town . The Sponge Docks is the working heart, where Sponge Diving is commemorated, celebrated, and you can eat good Greek food , drink, and buy real sponges, not plastic.

Check all the shops before you buy. Many have the same things and some are cheaper than others. But it's really fun to explore!

This is a must see for Gulf coast of Florida so much real culture a bit cheesy with all the curio shoppes but still a nice place

Riverside veranda is beautiful. Rooftop dining and bar . $12 Absolut pitchers ! Yum! Grapevine white sangria is amazing. Live bands Fri n Sat

A fun place to walk around, get some souvenirs, a bite to eat and see if anyone has caught sponges that day.

A must visit spot along the Gulf. Immerse yourself in some Greek culture. The PARTHENON makes an incredible gyro !!

Fun experience to walk around and look in the shops for sponges, sea creatures , Greek merch, etc...

Plan ahead, parking can be a difficult, but worth it, and don't forget about the magical sunsets !

Plakas for Greek food , spice man shop, and rusty bellies all great.

Mama Maria's makes incredible baklava , souvlaki , and flaming cheese . Opa!

Dimitri's is great! Good food and service!

This place is simply so beautiful and full of culture-- Must see!

Great restaurants , Charter Fishing , Boardwalk, Shops.

Make sure to go to Mama's for the lunch special . Opa!!!

Some of the coffee shops look as if they were brought intact from small greek villages .

Make sure to stop by Hellas or Mr. Souvlaki for great food.
