A true SF treasure, the cheese naan is amazing but made for sharing and the lamb with tomatoes/onions is mesmerizing! Also, free chai
Lahore is the best Indian food in SF . My go to's; naan , tandoori fish , chicken tikka masala & saag paneer . Fyi, don't wear your favorite clothes here. An SF hole in the wall treasure.
Honestly, the best Indian food I’ve had. I live in New York now and I’m only writing this bc I miss it so much. ???? get the tandoori fish , lamb vindaloo , and the garlic naan .
The butter chicken and the garlic Naan are lip smackingly good! The amount of food for the price is awesome. One naan was enough for me
Best Indian in SF! Butter chicken , tandoori chicken , naan bread , rice , all of it. So good!
Awesome Nehari and goat curry . One of the best meals I've had in a while! The curries are really well integrated and feel like they've been cooked with the meat and not added in later. Good stuff!
Super good North Indian food . Split the Maharaja or Maharani feast with a friend and get the crispy bhindi on the side. The fish tikka and roganjosh are particularly delicious
Family-run feel and outright delicious Indian/Pakistani food; Gudu, previous owner/chef, lives on. Chicken Tikka Masala of course, tandoori chicken , lamb korma , samosa , naan -$10/pp- free chai ! BYOB !
Looks can be deceiving. I'm not going to understate it – it looks like it'll be a shithole, but my food was amazing. Chicken Korma and Mango Lassi ; I'd come back anytime.
Best Indian we've had in the city thus far however 30 min wait for food was long at dinner time. Order ahead with the app on your way over as they get backed up by the takeout orders!
The last owner sold but the new family that purchased it is doing a great job. The menu changed slightly and the food seems to a be a little hotter (spice). Still highly recomended... And still BYOB
Their fish kebab might be my favorite in the city . I'm so glad they now deliver via Caviar !
It changed owners a few ago and isn't quite the same, but it's still one of the best Indian spots in SF. It's also a little spicier than before.
The naan is sooo fresh and good. Paneer tikka masala and biriyani were really good
INCREDIBLE food—especially when you consider it's all turned out by one man and a prep cook/busboy/runner. Be patient, and you WILL NOT be disappointed. Try the chicken saag with garlic naan !
Hands down best Indian fare in SF. Not for the faint-hearted, but if you can handle food prepared with passion and intensity your meal here will be nothing short of a religious experience.
Tandori chicken , super good garlic naan , saag paneer , and hot tea . BYOB . Perfect hole in the wall .
This bare bones operation has to be the best South Asian food in SF. Focus is on the food and nothing else. The vegetarian options , naan and samosas are all excellent!
It's kind of self-serve here but it's really good. Spicy Samosa , naan , and lamb tikka and korma are really spectacular
My favorite Indian place in the Tenderloin. Butter chicken and garlic naan are out of this world!
Good hole in the wall . Biryani , lamb , cheese Naan were highlights.
Favorite Indian spot in the city . Can't go wrong with the saag paneer and garlic naan .
We argue a lot about the best Pakastani-Indian food in SF, but we all basically agreed that Lahore is probably the best of the best. BYOB from a nearby corner store. Excellent biriyani .
All of Gudu's employees quit at the same time so he is left doing everything himself. The place is currently self serve (Like a taqueria ). He is doing a great job by himself.
This is by far the best Pakistani food in SF. Try the Beef Seekh Kebabs next time you're here, very authentic !
We tried Chicken Tikka Masala twice and it rocks! Sad that such a good place is localised in Tenderloin
Butter chicken and garlic naan is a gem here. Can't go wrong with their mango lasse either
My favorite Indian restaurant in the city , so far. Their naan is perfectly crispy & delicious.
i love all the vegetarian plates here, especially the eggplant and the naan . i also recommend getting the house rice .
Get the sweet naan : coconut , sweetened with sugar and raisins ; perfection.
Don't pass on the garlic naan to help sop up all the saucy goodness! You may also need more than one order of naan .
Lahore Karahi now lets you order and pay ahead with your phone. Download the OrderAhead App. Read more
My favorite Indian Pakistani in the city . The smell alone of the restaurant always starts my Indian craving
Great vegetarian food and free tea . Also: you are allowed to bring your own drinks.
Don't be scared of the interior :) the food is amazing - beware of big portions
Beware: this place will leave you smelling like a tandoori oven, but it has some of the most authentic indian/pakistani food in sf. yum.
The naan is extra fluffy!
Butter chicken is super buttery. Huge servings!
BYOB , garlic naan and goat curry was great.
Butter chicken , garlic Naan and mango Lassi , I need it once a week
Lamb Korma & Garlic Naan Bread ! Omg! So good!
Rice comes in large portions . Mango lassi creamy rich wonderful. Garlic naan is overrated.
Korma chicken and butter chicken are great.
Lamb korma and special goat curry are the gems here.
sad news peeps- sounds like the fantastic owner/chef just sold. :-( <aclass="entity url"rel="nofollow" href="http://sf.eater.com/archives/2012/05/01/lahore_karahis_new_owner_ends_an_era.php"target="_blank" data-sig="Btwj+3/9U9LJa+YhIyMdIF1c0Io=" onmousedown="fourSq.ui.OutgoingLink.mousedown($(this), event)" data-source="tip-text">http://sf.eater.com/archives/2012/05/01/lahore_karahis_new_owner_ends_an_era.php</a>
tandoori , naan , gobi, butter chicken and daal
Garlic naan yum. Also remember to pay after you eat!
Great chicken karahi , loved it !!
Best Indian food I've had in SF so far
Chicken Korma and Naan . Can't go wrong with that.
Best Indian food in San Francisco! Amazing food, incredible prices and they're open tillKid night. Love their naan, chicken tikka masala, and kababs. Must visit if you like Indian cuisine. - Yazz Ibrahim
Almost everything is excellent here. Favs: chicken tikka masala and bhindi (okras, whenever they have it). - S L.
This place was incredible! Order the veggie samosas, they're dusted with awesome! - Christina Boggs
Outstanding 20's atmosfere And cocktails... But for a full prohibitiobism experience.. Ask for the Library! - Alessio Sanzogni
Lower-key than the newer cocktail revival places in the city, Rye unassumingly delivers consistent quality in a cool setting with an absolute minimum of pomp. Great to relax after work on off nights. - Jonathan Ragan-Kelley
Super friendly, helpful employees. Great intimate place to see great bands cheaply. - Amy B
