Designed by Joseph Strauss and constructed in 1925, the bascule bridge carries Ohio State Route 531 over the Ashtabula River in the harbor of Ashtabula, Ohio. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

This is a Strauss bascule (moveable) style bridge using a concrete counter weight. It was constructed in 1925 by Cleveland firm Wendell P. Brown and is on the National Register of Historical Places.
This was really great to watch. Bridge lifts on the hour and half hour.
