Pinkas Synagogue is a synagogue Staré Město Prague located in Czech Republic.
Široká 23/3 110 00 Prague Czech Republic
Built in 1535, closed during the communist dictatorship era, and re opened in 1989. The highlights are the drawings made by kids in Terezín & the names Czech Jews sent to nazi concentration camps
This place is a part of Jewish museum complex, which I highly recommend to visit to anyone interested in history and culture.
Bookstore 25m to the right of synagogue entrance sells tickets -- skip the long lines at the synagogue .
Quite a solemn place. Has 80,000 names etched on the walls of Jews killed in concentration camps .
It's weird to like this place, as visiting is a heartbreaking experience. But I can only recommend going, it's a good way to remember
Ticket queue here is too long. Buy from the ticket office at old new synagogue , you'll save a lot of queueing time!
Buy your ticket from the bookstore up the road to skip the queues!
Incredibly moving. I cried.
