When the sun comes out, a soft, yellow light from the windows makes this basilica one of the most impressive and inspiring in the Trastevere district

Gold, gold and more gold! Magnificent Byzantine style decorated church located in an eclectic area of Rome.

The pictures left by those who’ve left their tips have done it justice. It’s one of the oldest churches in Roma. It’s also some of the most beautiful (and oldest mosaics ) I’ve ever laid my eyes on.

Very interesting architecture , obviously many orthodoxical art elements. As usually, huge, but okay, I'm used to it (in Rome). A piece of art , indeed. Worth a visit when in trastevere!

take time to check out the burial stones of early Christians (who had gone b4 us) on the walls located at the entrance. prayed 4 them. like the mosaic ... our Lord puts his hand around his mom =)
