Absolutely stunning. Come here earlier than sunset (since the interior of the temple closes before dark), watch the sunset from the hill , and then wait for the temple lights to come on - gorgeous!
When I was coming to Madrid I had no clue there was such incredible piece of ancient history here! (so different from the other middle age monuments and castles ). Do not miss it, specially on sunset !
The Egyptian government gave the temple as a gift to the city of Madrid and it was transported and rebuilt stone by stone in its current location, opened to the public in 1972. Free to view !
A big part of culture in Madrid is to simply lay down a picnic blanket, crack open a few cervezas and enjoy company with friends. This place is just swarming with people and it's a great vibe.
An ancient Egyptian temple that was rebuilt in Madrid, near the Plaza de Espana . Do not miss the amazing hieroglyphics at the temple 's western hall. Get views of the city and the Almudena Cathedral .
Mesmerizing even on a cloudy day. You cant go inside (I visited Feb 17, 2017) but the view from above is stunning. Will pass by again during sunset .
Incredibly, Egypt gave this temple dating back to circa 200 BC to Spain in the 1960s, whereupon it was re-assembled to the finest detail in a park atop a hill in Madrid.
One of the best spots in Madrid. Great park for taking the sun, having a picnic , sitting alone or with friends. Amazing sunsets .
Avoid the long line to e tee since the real show is outside. When I visited the water was missing (see photo) and it completely ruined it.
Not and amazing place... however the views on the palacio real and over the rest of the city are quite nice. Don't be worried if you miss it.
Lovely spot for sunset . I would say, it is a must go with your girlfriend ❤
One of the most beautiful places to visit at night in Madrid. The monument is nicely lit, and reflects beautifully on the water. Quite romantic I'd say.
Stone by stone , second century BC Debod Temple was reconstructed in Spain in an effort to save its demise by the construction of the Great Dam of Aswan.
Great views . Nice entertainment from the buskers! Don't take notice of the opening hours because there is no point paying to go inside.
Buen plan para ver el atardecer con amigos, check the sunset with Friends awesome plan! Nice views

It's a real 2000+ y.o. temple the Egyptian govt. offered to Spain as a gift in the 60s and it's free = must-see. If you can avoid it though, don't come in the summer. It's incredibly hot inside.
This is a MUST. The sunset is impressive and this 2200 year old temple will become your favourite spot in Madrid. :)
Debod was put in during the 1960s to replace the Montaña barracks destroyed as a result of the Civil War.

The temple gives you a real moment of Egyptian feel. Or might not look like much on the outside but the inside is full of surprises.
