Nice and spacious , great whisky selection . The staff are friendly … friendlier than the average for the kind of business, which makes visiting quite pleasant. Great back room, too.
The bar menu is small but tasty. Staff aren't very friendly and welcoming but people seem happy to drink here regardless. Lots of whiskies and gorgeous original features and stained glass etc

Top Real Ale bar. Many of Edinburgh's brewers drink here, so that's a good recommendation. Usually have an excellent range of Scottish Ales. - John Malone
Excellent for lunchtime pie and pint. A range of pies to choose from and as they sell out daily you can be sure that they're fresh. If you want a table (rather than standing at the bar) be in by noon! - Steve Harrison
