Lovely cosy pub , decent beer selection and well kept, ridiculously friendly staff , good value , relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere .
Cozy pub with a good selection of whiskies . Enjoyed a Talisker Double Matured Distiller's Edition here (amongst others). I dug.
Whisky ! Any time of day. Great if you are skipping out on sessions at the Conference Center
Candlelight in the evening sets a homely mood. Great real ale .
I went at lunch time on a weekday. It was almost empty. Service okay, food nice (pub grub - gourmet burger and chips - no skin on the chips , yay). Decent quantity - couldn't finish it all.
James and his team always make you feel welcome. Their pint of tradewinds is magic, same with Guinness . Also, serve great toasties - old school & the best!
Open til 3am every night of the Edinburgh Festival . It'll be my second home!
Must try their local beer .. Half pint for £1.80!!
Great traditional pub with amazing ales and beers

A great wee bar , nothing but good beer and a great place to chat.

Amazing burgers, especially the mushroom, swiss cheese and garlic mayo one. Upgrade to Piri Piri fries for lots more flavour. - Plwm Bwm
Nice home made beer. If you like lager, you will love the ceilidh lager - Pieter-Jan
Great views from almost anywhere, excellent acoustics and Brewdog across the road is also very handy for pre and post event refreshments! - Derek Watson
Awesome place! Full breakfast is delicious, the atmosphere is light and friendly and peculiar to Scotland, which was important for us as tourists) Definitely recommend this place! - Kate Umnova
