The place between Detroit 's Astro & Commonwealth in Birmingham to grab a fresh (Stumptown ) pour-over. The staff is the sweetest. Don't get me started on Pinwheel 's blueberry muffin , a mind-blower!

Hands down the best almond milk lattes in SE MI. They know how to steam it properly, and the espresso itself is delicious! Perfect combo. Be sure to pair with a vegan brownie too!

Best shop in Ferndale, one of the best in the area. Very good espresso and hand pour, great environment, friendly staff . Worth checking out.

A cafe that has the name of a Brooklyn area and brews Brooklyn coffee in Detroit . Pour overs are amazing and so is the playlist.

This is one of my favorite local coffee shops . They have some delicious pastries and stumptown coffee . Also, Marcel Dzama decor.

If you see someone sitting bye themselves, ask if you could take the seat in front of them. I've encountered some interesting people and the conversations I've had have been eye opening. :)

Get a pour over and DO NOT pass up a baked good .. They are phenomenal and worth the splurge!
