A popular lunchtime indulgence, a Mushroom Seitan Cheesesteak from Jay’s (make sure to ask for vegan mayo and add avocado ) is messy, tasty perfection, overflowing with piles of thin-sliced faux meat.

Jay's prices has gone up but, the food is delicious for a reasonable price of, $8.50 and up is worth it.

They have a seitan cheesesteaks and vegan hot dogs to go with the usual cheesesteaks .

Either vegan food sets the bar low or those raving about the seitan cheesesteak don't eat very often. Thoroughly unimpressed.

Unlike the one on Divisadero, this one's cash only . ATM on-site though for the unprepared.

They switched to a new kind if cherry pepper (#3) awhile back. Hotter. Which to me means better.
