とりあえず岩魚定食 。日本の近代登山の父、ウォルター・ウェストン氏の山 案内人だった嘉門次さんの山小屋 という歴史を持つ上高地の食事処。岩魚は頭から丸ごと美味しい。お漬物 や小鉢までも美味しいのは水がいいからかも ？
上高地を世界に紹介したと言われる、ウォルター・ウェストン夫妻を案内したという地元の猟師。その嘉門次が明神池 の湖畔 に建てた小屋が嘉門次小屋と呼ばれるようになった。国 の登録有形文化財 に登録。
食事は先に席をとり、レジにて席番号を告げての注文です。
岩魚の塩焼は干してあるので頭から尻尾まで食べられます。
