There are two shake shacks in Terminal 4. If you have the time, make the trip to gate 37. Line is often though not always shorter. The real win: seating!

Sneaky great breakfast option . Sausage/bacon egg and cheese on the normal perfect burger buns . Stumptown drip coffee and cold brew bottles to go. Half price vs. other options.

Huge win for Delta over Virgin as this couldn't be farther from the latter's gates. There's a power plug and two USB charging ports at every table, which should be a requirement of civilization.

I know everyone has said it already but... SHROOM BURGER ! Delicious superheated crispy cheesy mushroom goodness. I'm not even vegetarian and I'm happy I picked it over a normal burger !

One of the few shake shacks that serve breakfast so if you're here before 11am go for the sausage egg and cheese sandwich , add bacon . Your day is off to a good start.

If you have time to kill, I️ can’t think of better way to spend it than waiting for a tasty burger from shake shack. A double shack will set your right. An awesome hello or goodbye from NYC.

This is a proper Shake Shack inside an airport and how can you not love it? The prices aren’t even different from in Manhattan.

Probably the best breakfast sandwich you'll ever eat at an airport . Plus, Stumptown coffee . Excellent.

Get the shroom burger . I'm not vegetarian and I love meat but shroom burger is like biting into melted cheese heaven, rich savory melted goodness. My favorite!

Great burgers and no inflated prices. Just be prepared to wait in line a bit and then a bit more as they cook your meal. Still worth it.

Burgers are obviously amazing and we know that. Tried a breakfast sandwich for the first time this morning and was quite impressed as well . Can't go wrong.

The shroom burger is a must for vegetarians and meat-eaters. Even if you don't like mushrooms , it's to die for. it'll make your layover something to enjoy :)

Lines are always long it so worth it!! They have their own beer on tap which is seasonal and cheaper that any beer in the airport .

The Smoke Burger and coffee shake are both excellent. Take them aboard your flight and watch your fellow passengers become envious!

For a light breakfast , try the Siggis probiotic yogurt . It's from Iceland and awesome.

Shackburger and a cold brew iced coffee and you'll be good to go for your flight .

I like the Chicken Shack. Great place, priced right if you're on a red-eye @JFK. Plus I refuse to buy a $15.00 salad .

They have breakfast and are open at 6am, plus all the usual shake shack action. Def your best bet if you are in this part of the terminal

Serving Stumptown coffee (drip only) it ALL the way at the end of the B gates at terminal 8 but they will be opening one at the other end soon!

Burger + cheese fries are all you need in life. I go out of my way when I go to JFK to stop here, no matter what time of day! Not impressed with the breakfast sandwich :/

Burgers are good. However it's busy most of the time. Each order can take from 5 to 10 mins. The foods are pricey compared to other fast food . They should have value meal like McDonald's.

Morning flight ? Get a raspberry crunch parfait and a Stumptown cold brew , but don't forget the shroom burger for lunch inflight!

Love the shack stack (beef and shroom patty) without cheese because the shroom patty already has a ton of cheese in it

Burgers are tastier than McD's and BK, but only slightly thicker. Confirm the no tap water criticism. They just opened so the service is disorganized still. There is coffee in the Fair Shake ! Tasty!

Early morning flight ? Try the killer breakfast sandwiches and Stumptown cold brew . Or just get a burger .

I gladly get to the airport early for flights to ensure I have time for a burger . Well worth it.

Nice hot dogs . Shake a dog is tasty. Combination of relish and peppers is nice

The only drawback from eating here is that the bun will be soggy from your tears of happiness.

If you're here for an early flight , try the breakfast sandwich . Best I've ever had.

The great burger place also has a location in terminal 4 of JFK. Go here now and avoid the crappy plane food later.

Airport shake shack is awesome, never a huge line .

The egg/sausage breakfast sandwich looks normal and peter parker-like but a rurally is a super hero of deliciousness

In and Out Burger you have competition. If they come to the West Coast then I may have to defect. Good burger .

Wandering hungry through JFK Airport , all I see is "Xpress Spa". Shake Shack was an oasis in the desert ... Also, shroom burger .

Eat a burger before your flight but don't be a jerk and bring it on the plane in front of everyone.

Plenty of power points round the whole restaurant . The benches have them tucked away underneath. Good job!

Not a huge burger and fry fan... but the cheeseburger was pretty fabulous.

Serves pretty good breakfast . Better than anything else in the area and at least it's freshly made .

In n out is still better but for NY, this is the best

Burgers are bite size but really tasty, have the smoke shack it is hot! Have a drink!

Not quite as good as their non-airport locations but still a must try, definitely worth the wait!

Pro tip: your buzzer *will* go off in the Sky Lounge .
