Wanda's Pie in the Sky

Wanda has been on the pie making biz for over 3 decades. She knows a thing or 2. Must try and local fruit pie but I am a sucker for her buttery, flaky croissants . Must try monkey bread on weekends.

My favourite local café/bake shop in Toronto. Laid back , amazing atmosphere, great coffee , great sweets. Wanda the owner is amazing. Definitely say hi to the tattooed manager Jesse, he is a gem.

Lemon meringue pie was a good combination of really light meringue , rich (yet still slightly tart ) lemon curd and a base that was pretty firm (though parts were a bit mushy - I bought it late in day)

Coconut cream pie had light, fresh cream & a crisp firm base which was good (much firmer and crisper than other places' pies so YMMV). It had a mild flavour & bits of fruit .

Had the rainbow cake which was actually really good and had different flavor to each color! ????????

Key lime pie had light, fresh cream . It had a crumbly base which had no body - I'm not a fan. The lime taste wasn't too strong & it had bits of fruit .

Apple-crumble pie was really good but the sour cherry pie had an artificial taste to it.

Carrot cake is great! The Grapefruit Roobos (tea of the month) is lovely too.

Wanda's known for pie , but try the croissants . They are so buttery and good. You'll have to walk a little to get anything better.

The carrot cake cookie things -- like two carrot cake muffin tops squished together with cream cheese icing in the middle. Deeelicious. Take one on a walk with you, with a cappuccino . Yum. Read more

Surprisingly good thick crust pizza . Friendly staff go the distance to explain pastry intricacies to dummies like me.

Not sure if its 'tude or simply not so bright staff . next time the door is open and someone offers a 20 for one of the pies out of the PILE u have in the display..take it & put it in the till 2morrow!

I wonder if It's a fluke that my quiche was really unevenly heated.

Pretty crusty staff . I made a point of smiling and saying hi how are you. I got the silent treatment from all 3 people that served me.

If you've got severe allergy I wouldn't take anything - kitchen is small and staff wasn't eager to serve me anything due to contaminations

Highly recommend their Japanese green mango tea .
