Ipanema Beach is a beach Ipanema Ipanema located in Brazil.
Av. Vieira Souto Rio de Janeiro , RJ Brazil
Wi-Fi | Free |
It's a busy beach with a lot of vendors selling various items. You can rent chairs and umbrellas there along with beach cocktails and beer served to your chair! It's not the cleanest but still ok!
This is the best beach in Rio de Janeiro. Be aware not to ring jewelry or lots o valuable things. They are a lot of pick pocketers. Best sport in front of Cesar park hotel
Great beach , but ask for chair, drink and food prices beforehand so you don't get scammed. Avoid Luis at shack number 100! Most of the shack managers are incredibly nice and friendly though.
The most beautiful water and its gorgeous. I love Copacabana but the water is more clearer in Ipanema. Posto 10 (the last) is great.
Well it's Ipanema, it's a classic. So beautiful, filled with hot people and great waves. Just be on the lookout for thieves.
A nice and clean beach , and the best spot for street carnival getting into the crowd. Beware of pickpocketing though, keep your belongings in a safe place.
If you are a surfer, don't come here looking for waves. This is a place for people to chill out - both in the waves and out. It also has a better landscape and a nicer atmosphere than Copacabana.
One of the best places in this city . Perfect view , water, waves, wind, etc. You can't go to Rio without spend a day in Ipanema beach .
Quick tips on "how not to look like a gringo": don't wear any jewelry , watches and so; never bring your shoes to the beach , stick with your flip flops; never wear plaid or whatever shirt with buttons.
I once knew a tall and tan girl from here who strode like a samba . Unfortunately, we drifted apart . Later, I told a talented Brazilian guitarist about her. I wonder what happened to either of them.
World famous beach , pay attention for the locals who claim the facilities from the city . They make you pay to use the shower .
The beach vendors are really helpful and cool...just ask for a chair or sun lounger and you pay when you leave...much more trusting than in the UK!!!
Go sit on the rocks between Copa and Ipa and watch the sunset . Better with beer ...
Worth walking the length of the beach when busy and observing the different cultures grouped on the different parts of the beach .
Get here early (the sun rises at 5:30) and watch how the city changes color because of the sun!
During the weekends if the beach is full of people AVOID to be near the Arpoador. gangs of 20, 30 teenagers attack suddenly to rob and everybody starts to run crazy. be at the Posto 9 It's safer ;)
It's view is magical! You should watch the sunset , this beach has one of the best sunsets in Brazil!
Wonderful view but you can’t witness the sunset , you have to go to cobacabana
Less crowded (and more expensive ) than the more worldwide-famous Copacabana, but providing the same carioca flair. The waves tend to be stronger, too - keep an eye out for red warning flags.
Gorgeous world-class beach ! http://travel-tourist-information-guide.com/brazil-rio-de-janeiro-outside-around-interesting-fun-day-trips-excursions-outings
quiter than Copacabana Beach . nice but be careful for the thives. A seller comes to you for stff and another one tries to get your bag
Best beach in the world #BornAndRaised
Melhor praia do Rio disparada! Quiçá do mundo! It's far the best beach in Rio , maybe the best in the world!

The beach is the market . No natural shade. It is darker at night then Copacabana beach .
Bring a towel, get a chair, order a caipirinha from the bar , stay for the sunset .
What is there to say.. one of the best beaches in the world
knock back a couple caipirinhas (cachaça (sugar cane liquor ), fresh lime juice , and sugar)
Always a good place and beautiful sunset !
Great views and relatively safe. Good place for a run along the beach and fresh coconut juice .
It is less touristic than copacabana beach . And I think it is much nicer.
good for hanging and cleaner than copacabana
Probably a few notches below Praia de Copacabana. But fine nevertheless. Watch out for your belongings!
Ipanema is a nice beach clean sand and a lots of people tourist and local
Amazing beach and breath taking view , but it's really crowded !
Beautiful place. Wait for the sunset at least once
Run this beach in the morning. This beach is also more suitable for surfing .
Enjoy the crystal blue water... Once in a lifetime experience here. Grab a beer and grab a buddy
Gorgeous beach and water. Just be aware of the flags raised for rough water/undertow
Rocky patch on the east side of the beach is the best at sunset !
The sunset is awesome!!! Lots of girls and guys of Ipanema!
Parque Garota at night is both serene and majestic with a lit up Cristo peeking out over the beach .
One of the most beautiful sunsets in the World
An elite beach in Rio
Get your havaiana and go to beach !
Nice place, has to come early to get some place to park !
One of the best beaches in Rio
Enjoy one day to remember at Ipanema Beach . Chill out on the beach on a hot day, dive in the blue ocean and have yourself a beer !
The nicer of the two main beaches . Less tourists than Copa, and way better scenery (both physical location and people).
pretty strong caipirinhas and caipiroscas! the best crowd in ipanema. - Damla Hase.
