A mile(ish) stretch of sandy beach with cafe's, pubs, ice cream and a couple of old fashioned amusement arcades. It's a bucket and spade kids beach popular with kite flyers, dog walkers, bbq-ists and leisure sailors.

A city beach a lot of wildlife if you’re patient. I’ve seen whales, seals, dolphins, starfish, octopus and all manner of beautiful jellyfish . Explore after a storm when the tide’s out.
Beach volleyball and buskers, fish and chips , excellent vintage Citroen coffee van, pubs and cafes and even more stuff to do two minutes walk away on the high street.
Lovely sandy beach and promenade to walk along. Super on a warm weekend.
Put your crisp packet in your pocket until you walk back up the beach then put it in one of the litter bins. It’s really easy to be a decent human.
Not many European capital cities have a beach and Scotland’s capital has a mile long promenade , golden sand and some good bars and restaurants . It’s an up and coming seaside suburb.
Beautiful beach to walk up and down on. Arcades and food nearby. You can u can visit also tumbles for indoor playground just further down the beach .
Little Green Van at the bottom of Bellfield St (by the swimming pool ) has tasty cake and delicious coffee .
Just take the bus (£1.5 in coins to the driver) and ride to Portobello . Sea, sand, happy dogs, seagulls - why not visit?
Kite surfers and a power kite crowd out today. Is that what you call them? The MASSIVE kites that make you think the person on the end might end up over in Fife.
Lovely sands, a great promenade , very dog-friendly and only 25 mins bus ride from Edinburgh centre!
This is a beautiful place to stroll and watch sunrise.
Grab a spot on the sand just down from the Espy and enjoy a cold beer in the sun. Only complaint today was too many pieces of broken glass in the sand, make sure your little ones wear crocs :/
Lovely beach for walks and admiring the sea & sunset/sunrise
The weather wasn't nice today still you can tell it's a lovely scene on a sunny day.
Lots of wee parties, events and festivities . You never know when something interesting might happen.
Amazing part of Edinburgh, if you get chance to live here do it, if you can only visit, definitely do it..
More shops and oddities on the High Street. Eat at Malvarosa, The Skylark or St Andrews chippy.
Amazing beach with excellent high street with shops, bars and restaurants just a five minute walk away
This might be the only Edinburgh "park " where you are allowed to light a fire. Please try not to bring wood with nails in. Always put your fire out. Better yet, stay until it's burnt right down.
Beautiful and quiet place to relax
Beautiful beach to bring your dog and meet some locals
The cool sea breeze freshens your mind and the beautiful blue North Sea

It's one of the most peaceful spots in Edinburgh.
A good way of keeping the beach clean is to take your litter home and maybe grab a couple of extra bits.
Fresh air , lovely views , Sandy beach , banging arcade
It’s totally ok to have a fire on the beach but stay with it and keep safe.
In the winter a bracing wind blows in from the north east.
