As a vegetarian , I felt nutritionally deprived during my trip to NoLA, until this place. I really enjoyed the variety of textures & flavors of the Esmeralda Salad & Brazilian cheese bread was AMAZING.
Mofongo is a typical PR food made from fried plantain . Their version is actually sweet plantain stuffed with sweet pork as well . But the waitress was nice about it and they put my dish by the house.
The super-casual restaurant 's palate skews tropical (think "sandwiches " built within plantain patties), though a special vegan gumbo one evening showcased the kitchen's apt touch with local flavors. Read more
Fantastic spot. The rico (I had the meat version with boar ) is outstanding, and the caipirinha was delicious. Lovely vibe with cool art and good service .
WOW this place is incredible! All such unique dishes you can’t get just anywhere. You have to get the Prawn Patia, Kottu Roti , and the Rico!!
Great alternative from the typical heavy NoLa fare. The rice noodle salad was delicious, as were the options from the raw menu. Cocktails were lovely! Try the one with cashew fruit juice - so unique!
The food is to die for here, so much flavour, healthy and feels good. The desserts are also fabulous, everything is available vegan ; vegan cheese , meat, and ice cream . Highly recommended!
Broken Noodle bowl was phenomenal. My husband had the Vegan RICO which was equally as good. Would love to dine here again next time we are in the area.
Excellent vegetarian fare and tasty cocktails ! Interesting menu (changes daily) and great service — the band was v enjoyable too.
Loved the BBQ creole seitan that was the special the day I visited. They also had some vegan desserts that looked amazing. I would have tried one if I wasn't stuffed after my meal :)
Tropical rice salad with currants pineapple avocado and vegan ham was mostly rice and overly sweet dressing Large $9. Nice open seating and service
Definitely bookmark this place if you are vegan and might travel to New Orleans. Great food, friendly people, good vibe, nice area of the city .
Ignore the cross-cultural confusion of Vietnamese Armenian bread , it is one of the tastiest things I've had in a long time. Super fresh and a great balance of flavors.
The vegetarian Rico is the tastiest vegetarian thing I've ever eaten
The Rico is one of the greatest dishes I have ever had anywhere. I had it with pork but there's a vegan and a vegetarian option too! The staff here is wonderful. Very nice and helpful.
West Africa meets Europe, Asia, and the Tropics at this cafe in the Warehouse District, offering a range of non gut-busting dishes. [Eater 38 Member]
Amazingly helpful folks. Get the Rico, pulled pork on a grilled plantain . Be sure to get some house made hot sauce to go along with it.
The Rico was outstanding!! Perfect combo of sweet and savory and the vegan meat was incredible
Vegans rejoice! The pea fritters were phenomenal; add the mild hot sauce to bring out the flowers. The banana bread is not to be missed ( but definitely share).
Great vegetarian and vegan friendly spot ! Interesting flavors and not too pricey .
Innncredible peanut and coconut milk cocktail , Burmese tea leaf salad , and then there's the banquette breads--go for the Vietnamese, you won't be sorry.
So many vegan , vegetarian , and gluten free items . Ingredients are fresh and local. Anything Indian themed here is a must try!
The entire vibe was great! Many vegan and vegetarian options , and flavors from the tropics beyond just Brazil
Amazing vegetarian , vegan , & GF food! Nothing is bad here and service is great. Bit of different ordering set-up, but not a big deal. Try it!!
Everything is amazing! Fantastic vegan options !
Food's great. Staff is very granola , but if you ignore that you'll enjoy the food.
Juices here is just awesome. Try carmo salad with vegan ham . Service sucks, but food is great!
Everything is yummy & beautiful
Amazingly wonderful, simple, fresh, and delicious food!
Comfortable , casual , really delicious food. Lots of great vegetarian options .
Trini green mango curry and Caribbean banana cake and the soups
Fantastic, casual South American fusion. Very creative, thoughtful combos.
Get the rico with vegetarian “meat” - so flavourful and satisfying ????
Had the Rice noodle salad and banana bread ; both were delicious
Try sitting in the side room; there's tons of room to spread out. As for food, the vegan acaraje is out of this world!
The Rico is delicious. Tons of satisfying vegetarian options .
Great healthy options . The Rico and Esmeralda salad were great
amazing gumbo , and exotic South American type salads and dishes. Definitely a great experience
VEGETARIANS : If they have it on the specials list, you must order the calabacitas con pollo vegan-style.
Vegetarian-friendly and green restaurant with unique flavors - don't miss!
I had a really good salad with rice , avocado , roasted cashews and balsamic vinegar .
Great menu w/ well-marked vegan options . Carmo & Esmeralda salads are heavier on the grains than the greens.
The Vegan Carmo Salad and the Vegan Rico Sandwich are to die for.
AMAZING blue crab & hatch green chile soup !! Its on special so may not be available all the time
Go for cocktails and the breadless sandwich . Baguette bread goes nicely.
