Besant Nagar Beach (Edward Elliot's Beach)

It's been the best hangout spot for many in chennai for years. The place is so lively and lovely always. And it has many coffee shops and restaurants overlooking Bessie ????. MUST VISIT PLACE IN CHENNAI

Nice beach with a large sand space. Though you can't go all Sparta on the waves because of the irregular reef. There are lots of places to chill (and eat) nearby.

Very descent place to hang out with friends, dear ones and family. mandatory activities. Grilled corn , fish fry , baji, mango , sundal, ice cream , etc.. Don't take fish from Santhosh fish stall Have fun

Good place to relax with friends. Try out the fried fish items made by the locals in the fish stalls . They are Yummmyyy!!

A very eventful place in Chennai. Weekends are especially cool. Enjoy all the beautiful people around and of course don't miss the culturals and some really good food joints.

Elliot's Beach is popularly known as "Besant Nagar Beach " is located in Besant Nagar, Chennai, India.It forms the end-point of the Marina Beach shore & is named after Edward Elliot,Governor of Madras.

One of the best places to hang around with friends whenever pissed off. The view of the beach is so awesome that you'll never want to return. The breeze is so cold that you won't require an A.C.

one of the best places to come alone or with a bunch of friends. . just to sit over the shore and listen the sound of waves :)

The cops patrol once its past midnight. You'll be asked to leave . So plan beach visits accordingly. The lavazza coffee shop opens a litle past midnight . So enjoy the late nite kapi kick. Cheers!

Best to visit around 6-630. Slightly lesser crowded and a long stroll on the road adjacent proves good for health :D

Elliots was previously so clean n nice bt I visited elliots yesteday after a long months back bt the elliots luks nasty nw, there wnt b much shops bt nw the beach is covered ful of shops ????????????????????????

The ice cream guy standing opposite to Barista cafe is the best!! he even wears a original Rado watch.. once it becomes late he stands opp rajani bhavan ;)

Dont miss ashta lakshmi temple and velankanni church on beach and also keep ur 2-wheeler very safely while parking or you may have to get an auto to reach home back

I love dis beach n nearby we have many eating outlets n specially street food n my favourite " ice golla"...love it...

Favorite place of mine. But you can't stay there after 12am, police will start clearing the place.

Very cool locality -great food. Great place to shop.

Great for hanging out with friends. Lesser crowd and much cleaner than marina Beach

Take a late evening walk by the beach , do dinner at MASH and follow it up with a Gelato dessert at Emilio\'s. You won\'t regret it!

If you are lucky cops won't drive you away after midnight & you can stay till 2AM too. Better sit near police booth so they don't care about you. F

Sun rise, evening strolls. Roadside shops, eateries , chats and everything else. I call it blessie beach .

Who doesn't know Elliot's Beach ? It's the most happening beach in Chennai with a lot of sea side shops and eateries and everything else that you might want.

Great place. But has become crowded these days. Avoid on Sunday's if you hate crowd.

Though This is a small stretch of beach compared to Marina . I like the stretch, It would be crowded on weekends for sure.

Its a far better beach than Marina , less crowed except in evenings. Best time to visit in late afternoon till evening.

Remember the parking spot of your vehicle . You might end up searching your vehicle for hours together if you fail to do so .
