If you're into currency (like me!), then you'll love this place. Such a wonderful collection of rare and odd money and coins .
Folks here are awesome. My sons were learning how to collect old American coins , staff took the time to educate them. Gave them a solid base to start from.
Tomorrow (July 20) is a Free Saturday at the Money Museum. Every 3rd Saturday of the month visit the Money Museum at no cost!
Only $4 for students and $5 general admission . Mostly American/Civil War history upstairs but there's a great introduction and history in the lower exhibit . I recommend starting there.
The museum is debuting an interactive area for kids, and will present monthly free classes beginning in October 2012. www.money.org/KidsZone
The new Treasures of the Deep exhibit opens in June. Until then admission is free!
It wasn't for me and my husband. But it would be for someone who is really into the history of money.
All the old coins are really neat to see
3rd Saturday of the month is free admission
