The peppery soup is the true star of this bak kut teh , the meat is a liitle bit too overcooked, but overall experience is very satisfied.
Popularly known as Kai Juan Bak Kut Teh , this place screams of old school nostalgia! from the granite floor to the traditional patterned bowls. Delicious bak kut teh leaves that familiar aftertaste!
Simply the best in SG right now. Ignore the other big brands. Opens 2pm-till last bowl served! Closed Sundays!
Kaya toast . U wd expect, w old-school feel & burning charcoal wafting in d air, their toast wd b good. But kaya spread is brown colour & lacks pandan fragrance. Plus they use std sandwich bread :-(
The 大连 mee pok is good! The old lady’s simple yong tau fu is cheap and good too. The hot drinks here are nice, but the drinks stall closes at 1pm.
Soup base is white and peppery with a kick. Good supper place coz no queue to bust unlike other bkt in this area.
Yong tau foo : Elderly couple sells simple selection of YTF items in the morning. Reasonable 30-cents per piece
Spicy peppery soup is shiok but that's about it, bak kut teh meat is tough and the pig 's trotters is not nice!
BKT here is quite light which I prefer. Black soya sauce diluted though :(
There is also a Dalian Teochew Noodles here that is really good! The teh is excellent too. Both only open til lunch .
I have been eating here for the past 10+ years...it's still. Good and awesome
Bak Kut Yeh and Intestines are my combo.
Pig trotters are very good. Tender skins. No pig odour.
Food was slightly above average. They didn’t have a few items I wanted and service was poor even though there were only 3 tables to serve
Try the kidney soup . Nicely done. No residue of ammonia.
Enjoy a bowl of peppery bak ku the in an old school environment. Affordable and good!
The bak kut teh is nice..traditional.. The braise intestine is nice too..
MUST EAT AH! GOOD SERVICE AND AWESOME BAK KUT TEH
Really old place with gd bak kut teh but still not as tasty as the nex door bak kut teh place under the hotel
TOO UNDERRATED OMG PPL PLS TRY THIS AND UR LIFE WILL CHANGE
The bak chor mee (with chili ) is a must try~
The fen chang & cai wei is a must try! Yummy.
Favorite place for eating bkt
Waaaaaaay better than Founder's Bak Kut Teh !!
The soup is peppery with the lack of flavor. The bak kut was overcooked therefore tasteless. The worst service I ever came across. The woman just shouted at her customers. Bad food, even worse service
Lots of cockroaches in the area
Only 2 pieces if white meats with $5!!?. The boss looks very fierce..
That soup .
Good Bak Kut Teh .:-)
nuthin impressive bout this bak kut teh .
Standard not as good as before ..
Huge portions for their $4 and $5. Chilli is pretty spicy. Noodles are quite qq. - Elizabeth Lee
Raw fish plain porridge boiled egg w/ gravy (lü dàn) FTW! Love their century egg porridge too - Pam Sia
Must try the white noodle here, the cereal prawn is also very good - A Xu
the soup is crazy awesome! light and peppery. the meat is tender and oh-Yums! refills please! great place if you really enjoy bkt soup. - Thomasina Owch
Original herbal store is surely worth a visit especially for Snow Frog stew or cooling herbal jelly! - Nick Tay
The bean curd is just simply lovely. Its pandan syrup is also delicious. The cold version is a perfect dessert for hot and humid Singapore. - Torzin S
