Lemme guess, 2 hr wait on a Monday? Pro move: order a pie takeout , head to Floyd on Atlantic (they allow food), and dine like a king on leather couches .
A true New York experience! The wait time is insane so you must arrive before it opens at 6PM to not have to wait several hours for a table. It's BYOB so do take advantage of that.
One of our top go-to spots for pizza ! The calzone is bursting with fresh ricotta and mozz pretty much making it one of the best things on earth! Call ahead to put your name on the list and BYOB !
One of the top pizza spots in Brooklyn and, therefore, planet Earth. Get a plain pie to experience minimalist perfection. Don’t forget to bring a bottle of wine or beer from nearby Folksbier.
Probably the best pizza in NYC . How to do it: get there before 6 (by at least 5 on the weekends), put your name in, leave for a couple hours (the wait could be longer) and come back. BYOB / cash only .
Top 5 pizza places for me. Get there before 6 or expect a 2 hour wait. Pizza is excellent but the calzone is the real star. Perfect meal: pepperoni pizza and shallot , basil , garlic calzone . It's BYOB !
Get here early and get in line to put in your name. If you can get a table, you’ll eat one of the best pizzas NYC has to offer. Two menu items - pizza or calzone and a handful of topping options. BYOB
OH MY GOSH THE SAUCE IS UNREAL. also if you order a calzone , you get a big side of it for dipping . calling for pick up is the best to beat the wait if you live in the neighborhood .
1st: small, focused menu ensures every/anything is good. Pro tip: pepperoni on side = oven-cooked crispylicious. Pro tip2: call ahead! Pro3: basil , garlic on everything. Pro4: side sauce calzone !
One of the best meals I’ve had in NYC. Go early, put your name down, grab some drinks at walkable breweries while you wait. Grab a pie but don’t forget the cheese calzone ! BYOB no cork fees.
If you're not in line before it opens, good luck. Best then to wait till later (9, 9:30p), when dinner rush is over. Do not sleep on the calzone . Even if you're not a calzone person. It's excellent!
Incredible. If I had one day in New York to eat pizza this would be the spot to go. It has taken its place among the great New York pizza places .
Lucali has vaulted to #1 in my pizza rankings. Outstanding pizza and calzones and a real friendly vibe . Bonus points for BYO !
Plan to put your name down before the restaurant even opens and make plans in the area until they can seat you. Also BYOB ! :)
Easily a Top 3 pizza spot in NYC. Mobbed on weekends, but doable during the week if you don't mind having drinks in the neighborhood wile you wait for your table.
The pizza here is amazing! One of the best I have had in NYC. Add on the complementary garlic to your pizza and ask for a side of tomato sauce to dip the crust. calzone was great too!
Lucali is home to the world's best pizza . This is not hyperbole. The only place that compares is the place that invented it, Da Michele in Naples, Italy. But Lucali's version is perfect.
Since Lucali only does red pies, focus on red wines like a nebbiolo from the Langhe or a cabernet franc that’s blissful with meat toppings. Bring wine glasses and arrive before 5:00 pm to get a seat. Read more
Believe the hype - best pizza in the city and 100% worth the wait.
The BEST pizza and calzone in NYC. It is BYOB and cash only . Don’t bother putting anything else besides the basil and garlic on the pizza . Expect long wait times but there’s a French sports bar nearby
One of the city 's best pizza experiences, mainly for reasons other than the pies: Old-school vibe, BYOB , and the excellent calzone (get it with shallots ).
To me one of the most beautiful restaurants design wise. Great pepperoni . Thought the pizza was good/really good which means that it doesn’t feel quite right to line up for hours beforehand
I’m on the side of the fence that believes this pizza is worth the wait. Fluffy yet crispy crush. Fresh ingredients . Eating inside is part of it so suck it up and wait on line vs picking up a pie!
Be prepared to *wait* and think about what you want. Now promptly forget about what you want and get a pepperoni and hot pepper pizza . Heaven isn't even an accurate portrayal of what you'll feel.
Even it’s really hard to get there, it does worth it. Pizza is very flavorful, crispy , and tasty. That’s definitely my favorite pizza place in NYC.
At this intimate Carroll Gardens restaurant , Mark Iacono makes thin-crust pizzas topped with a three cheese blend (fresh and imported mozz , plus Grana Padano) and fresh basil . Read more
So worth the wait. Honestly might be the best pizza I've ever had. BYO and cash only . There's a bodega on the corner to pick up some single beers .
Incredible experience. Go early probably still wait 2-3 hours but it’s worth it. Neighborhoods quaint and the pizza is phenomenal. Plain pizza , pepperoni and the calzone is packed w cheese . Also byob
It's worth the wait. Promise. Once you pass the "velvet line ", simple yet amazing pizza is awaiting. Sausage , hot peppers , basil and garlic sauce !! Oh and it's BYO . Hell yeah!
Get here early and put your name down then walk to a liquor store and pick up two bottles of wine . Then get a calzone AND pizza . Guaranteed memorable night.
They are literally growing the chronic veggies in the BACKYARD ! These chefs are straight up using wine bottles to roll out the pizza dough - most authentic pizza experience I've had, and I'm a native.
This is the truth. This guy made the pizza like he was hanging out in his house. Everything was fresh cook to order pizza . BYOB . Would I wait for pizza no! But check this place out! Top notch
Pizza is perfection - among the best in all of NYC. Get there at 6, put your name down, and grab a drink across the street while you wait for your mind to be blown. BYOB .
I regret to inform you that it is indeed worth the wait. However, the “one bottle per table” limit isn’t enforced, so don’t stress about that if you have red and white drinkers in the same group.
Calzone was insaneee. Pepperoni (beef ) was awesome. Plain cheese was really good...but just as good as plenty of other places in the city . Come at 4:30 to reserve table..
There are just two items on Lucali’s menu: pies and calzones , adorned with milky , elastic mozzarella and simple toppings like chewy rounds of pepperoni or slivers of artichoke . Read more
One of my favorite pies not just in NYC, but the world ???? BYOB & cash only and expect a wait (that is well worth it!) The calzone is also INCREDIBLE.
It's a warm, welcoming, family-run spot. They really take care of you, even when you're waiting outside. Drop by an hour before opening to put your name down - at least 1 hour wait but SO WORTH IT.
Amazingly charming place, with a great story. Get a pizza . And a calzone . Bring your own wine . Toppings? Shallots , Basil - they load it!!!; and garlic . That is all.
AMAZING! Delicious "proper" pizza , super fresh ingredients , very friendly staff , and with this whole BYOB thing and an awesome cozy decor you can't go wrong. Best pizza in Brooklyn!
Definitely get the hot peppers on your pie. They're real good. Put your name in at 5:30, hang out in the hood or BYOB and hang out till your table's ready. Order extra sauce and dip your crust in it.
Get there early, bring your own beer or wine , and enjoy some of the best pizza NY has to offer.
Pizza with Garlic and basil . Pepperoni on the side, so that it is crisp and doesn't grease up the pizza . Classic calzone is perfect.
Might be one of the best pizza places in Brooklyn. There's usually a long wait so put your name down, ask for a call back and get some hot sake at Koto Sushi across the street while you wait.
Pizza : very good. Line : very, very, very long. The pizza was great but honestly I wouldn’t invest that much time again. It’s worth a trip though, and don’t sit on the calzone !
Even it’s really hard to get there, it does worth it. Pizza is very flavorful, crispy , and tasty. That’s my favorite pizza place in NYC.
Probably the best pizza I’ve had in the city ! Calzone is unreal too
some of the best brick oven pies in the five boroughs. put your name in early and then go somewhere for a drink; they'll call your table is ready. oh, and it's BYO and they only serve pies and calzone
Sat next to Jay-Z and Beyoncé on more than one occasion and for good reason. If not for Di Fara this might be the best pizza in NYC...their cheese calzone might actually be even better
They open at 6pm, but they start taking names at 5pm. If you arrive at 6 the wait might be 2 hours, but they'll text you when the table is ready!
Actually amazing food. Love the tasting over any other fancy tasting I have ever had. O m g - Leiti Hsu
Great views. Amazing pizzas. Try the special pie w/ salad pairing. Always a good bet. - Anthony DeRico
Excellent pizza. Try the Emily (sounds weird but is really good) - J B
I love the mini sundaes for the portions! Vintage atmosphere and the milk shakes, egg creams and ice cream sundaes are top knotch! - KE
I love this spot. Craft cocktails. No TVs. Usually a very chill, intimate vibe. Pool table/patio in the back - Karen Cooper
Amazing quinoa burgers! So flavorful and yummy. Boyfriend raved about the fish tacos which he said were as good as the ones he had in baja - Ariel Davis
