Mussels normales is huge bucket! Their steak is cooked to mmm mmm good! The salmon is awesome as well . Mussels are a must here simply said!
This is one of our favorite "what do you want for dinner ?" Go-Tos. They are on open table, so we will usually scope it out and make a reservation before we head over. My favorite is the homardine!
It's a go-to in the Dupont Circle area, open all the time, w/ a large menu of French classics, cassoulet , tartiflette savoyarde, steak served with bearnaise sauce & killer fries . [Eater 38 Member]
This place feels really old yet so french! Salad with goat cheese and steak was really good. But I liked the french onion soup the most. Lovely experience.
The mussels with lobster bisque are mind blowing. And they serve food until midnight on week nights. Leffe Bruin (dark) on draft . Mini ravioli with ham and pesto are amazing as well .
Lovely wait staff , great food and an extensive wine list . Sit in the window seat and you can see all that DuPont Circle has to offer. I recommend without reservation .
Incredible French food .....just amazing! Get a cocktail or some great wine to boot. I recommend a reservation ....this place gets crowded .
Best French restaurant in DC. Wonderful ambiance. Real French fries . Get the mussel pot w lobster bisque . Go ahead, you must try the Escargot .
One of my go-to's. Been here probably 100 times. Steak Frites all the way. Mussels to change it up, but everything is great.
A boisterous, casual spot with solid French food and wine . Great for a crowd, a couple, or solo dining (and that's a rarity)
Can get pretty busy at night - make sure you put in a reservation . It can also get a bit warm if it's a hot day. Try to sit downstairs if you can! Great food though. Wonderful service, too!
If you like French Food you really should try the Steak NatureIt is a typical Lunch item in France. They really make it authentic here.
I have yet to find anything on the menu that isn't delicious. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the District.
Great atmosphere and service- loved the French onion soup and le steak maison . Very reasonably priced wine list as well .
The duck is the bomb! Fois gras isn't bad either, especially the bakery risotto it comes with. Mussels are good but not something you can't find somewhere else. Great vibe good crowd.
Mussels Normandie and Rabbit Stew are to die for. Make a reservation . Share plates to try more menu items.
We should have stuck to the basics. Mussels , steak and fries . We tried the sweet breads , chicken , and mushroom dish it was terrible. The duck confit tasted old to salty and the sauce was to sweet
Mushroom velotte, French onion soup , open-faced sandwiches and the macaroni souffles are my faves.
Escargot were good. Stake was a bit disappointment. Chocolate mousse was excellent
Fabulous food, great (and potent!) cocktails , awesome atmosphere and a convenient location. Highly recommend the steak maison.
Best place to get a great steak for a decent price and a very French list of aperitifs.
This place is awwwwesome. I had the veal stew and creme brûlée and they were both wonderful.
Don't feel bad being "unoriginal" and ordering the steak des frites , it is amazing! Also the best French onion soup I've had.
You can never go wrong Le Steak Mason, Catalanes, duck and most of the food menu are great. One of the best mussels in town
I'm French, I mean really as I spent 38 years of my life in France. And I did really enjoyed it even if I feel that the" lapin a la moutarde" was way too americanized for my taste!
Steak tartare good. Foie gras with risotto must try but a bit too much gravy . Escargot not worth it. Nice casual spot with satisfying food.
A DC staple. Decent food and good service . Try the steak frites !
Try the Warm Potato Salad with Goat Cheese - So delicious. Honestly. I can't talk about it. You just gotta eat it.
Guillermo Pernot, chef of Cuba Libre , eats here on his nights off. He loves the Salade de magret et gésiers de canard . Read more
All of the mussels are delicious. Sweetbreads appetizer is great as well !
Recommendations recommended as it's crowded ! Try their mixed speciality cocktails !
Vegetarians have very little to choose from (it is French food , after all) & the lines can sometimes be up to an hour wait, so call ahead. Food is rich, so small portions are a-okay. Get the mussels !
I’ve come here for over a decade and my latest visit was underwhelming. The pate ’ had the consistency of overcooked meatloaf and the salade Nicoise was like a half can of tuna dumped over lettuce.
Fun place for a weeknight dinner with friends. The mussels and country pate are fantastic here as well as the steak frite . Try them with a glass of the Beaujolais.
By all means one of the best French Bistros in the world. Hand down!
Extremely tasty food! Order the appetizer portion so you won't feel guilty about dessert .
I would trade by first born child for the escargot . And the second for the dauphinoise ravioli . Delicious!
Bar service is fast and courteous. Dinner was superb. Nice smaller portions and friendly staff .
Love love love this bistrot. Steak ER frittes and Moules Catalane!!! Yummy!
The steaks are tender and delicious, and totally affordable .
You must try the French onion soup !
Amazing veal stew n Awesome Steak Ribeye !!! Fries are a must try!
This is the place for French cuisine in Dupont. MUCH better than Bistro Bistro .
A taste of France in Dupont. An excellent time every visit.
The best French food on dc. Every item on the menu it's perfect
The half roasted chicken with french fries is AMAZING! Also def try the asparagus and artichoke salad
Good steak frites and wine
The last couple years the food and service have really fallen off. The onion soup is still a good option, but cassoulet tastes like it has old duck and sausage in it. Service was really poor.
Steak Tartare and the French cafe feel!
book a table for the 10 pm seating on the third wednesday of November. Enjoy a good dinner and be one of the first to try out the year's Beaujolais Nouveau wine .
The green eggs and ham at brunch were really yummy. Also the grilled peaches are a must! - Lynn Pina
Amazing coffee. Great food. Chill vibe. Reminds me of my favorite coffee shop in Santa Barbara. - Carolyn
Food is absolutely top notch, the sunday brunch is to die for! - Ramzy Haddad
The coffee is delicious! Churros with dulce de leche very good as well :) - Caroline Holland
A perfect spot for breakfast/lunch. Good coffee (the Latte is huge), nice house sodas and great Red Velvet cake. Try Cuban sandwich! - Sasha Tkachenko
Great for hanging out, and a nice shortcut for navigating the maze of streets. - Stephen Victor
