Great variety of hikes ! From the paved to the more wilderness-type, you can tailor your visit to your skills. Most people come in the summer to swim at the falls , but I like hiking in cooler weather.
One of the greatest Texas State Parks I've been to. Beautiful scenery and waterhole is awesome. Hit the 'Lower Falls ' for a better family experience.
Great bike trail that's in ok shape, never really feel like you're out of the city though. The falls are definitely worth seeing though and there are some cool ruins
We get run off the trail by a guy speeding in a golf cart so we go down the other trail only to e screamed at. Wow. How about using the golf cart for good and building a bridge by the falls . Wild.
Beautiful water hole . Check out the ancient hidden native American trail . Great place for friends and family get togethers!
Don't forget to check out the ruins by the lower falls , shelter rock, & the old school curling iron in the visitor's center.(women would put it in the fire to get it hot & then curl their hair)
It's a great place to relax , picnic and enjoy the nature. Very organized , clean and full of adventures.
Trails are beautiful.. There are plenty of picnic benches throughout the trails for picnics or bbq time..
It's a great place to picnic , enjoy nature, swim and biking . Very clean and organized .
Amazing park .. clean restrooms .. designated space for each reservation .. be aware of the snakes in the lake ..
Bring lots of water! None available along the homestead or flint rock trails . Two cool swimming holes in the park
Keep the parks beautiful, pack out more than you pack in. If you blame the park rangers for trash in our state parks , you're doing it wrong!
Great place for the whole family, including interpretive trails for beginners and intermediate trails for the daily hiker. Check out the lower falls during the summer if the bacteria count is low.
One of the most scenic and picturesque settings in Austin proper.
The trail at McKinney Falls State Park is great 3-mile beginners course for mountain bikers . Take a dip in Onion Creek to cool down post-ride.
Park suffered major damage in Oct. 2015 floods. Several trails are closed, but they hope to open them before Spring Break 2016. Lower falls are open and good for a visit.
Great place, bring plenty of water and food for a great picnic ! Staff was very informative and nice.
On the southeast side of Austin , McKinney Falls State Park is the perfect escape from the city with minimal driving distance.
Wow. DO NOT GO. UNSAFE. They sit in the shack and collect your money. Meanwhile, the trails are poorly maintained. The main trail needs a bridge before some one really gets hurt!
Beautiful state park convenient to downtown Austin.
On the south east side of Austin , McKinney Falls has plenty of water, waterfalls , and camping grounds for fun.
Cool park to explore. Parking at $6/per person is oftly pricey .
Onion Creek Bike Trail is easy and fun! A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!
Great camping inside a city ! Aside from the occasional airplane noise, you feel "removed."
Amazing place to hike bike and picnic .
Great place to hike and swim !
Beautiful view with waterfall
Nice and quiet . Large RV sites. Plenty of privacy.
We love swimming/floating in the upper falls area. Watch for snakes (they will leave you alone.)
Unimpressive waterfalls and a $6 per person entry fee
Come in late spring to see wonders!
Great hiking and biking trails and an awesome swimming hole
Awesome campground ! Drought doesn't do falls justice. Feet first if jumping off rocks!
Bathroom showers need updating. Water was "warm" & shower head was frozen in place. They were clean though. :-)
excellent camping ! cheap place to stay in Austin and you can fish without a license on site. firewood was expensive and rather damp.
Interesting park . Not many big fish .
I volunteer here. Great park .
great place to go campin.....
Austin's Oasis with two waterfalls . Camp, hike , bike and explore! Read more
Hiking , biking , swimming .
Upper Falls swimming hole .
Near a restroom but lacks the shade that other sites enjoy.
Great campsite .
Showers are nice and hot and are free!
I didn't pay for a visit to a haunted woods where it's dangerous and I'm screamed at. Ridiculous
All dried up. Pretty scene but not worth it without falls advertised
Took the kids here, it was sadly overwhelmed with trash. Used diapers, bottles and tp on the ground and in the water. Told a ranger - they DON'T care! Won't be back.
Cool place
Nice for walking and picnicing !
Best bathroom showers are over at the screened shelter area. No one was camping over there and they have 5 showers per gender. Warm bathrooms , good water pressure.
Big campsite... You can place multiple tents here... Love it!! The only downside is that it is very close to site 60...it would be good for a family or group!! ???? - Dianey Sandoval
A great place to relax in cool water. - Bobby
Real leg burning hike less than twenty minutes from downtown! Constant ups and downs with stairs - Erin G
Great park, my dogs love the trails. Great shaded trails that head in towards town lake. Awesome for bike riding - Mary Hdz
Gorgeous trail! Wide variety of plants and animals. Very clean, and fantastic views of the city! - Alex Grismer
