French dip on French roll and Reuben on sourdough were both very good. Sauerkraut was excellent. Def one of the best delis I've been to in SD. AND they've got Hawaiian Portuguese sausage for sale!

Steak & Stein: Top Sirloin (medium rare) w/ caramelized onions , mashed potatoes & gravy , broccoli , green salad , dinner roll , stein of local pale ale . $12. Unreal.

Absolutely love this place for seafood , meat, and delicious German food .

I had the sirloin and my hubby had the stuffed pork chop . Way more food than I could eat. But it was very good and cheap .

Hot Reuben and French dip sandwiches are great! Be prepared for large portions . About $9 for the sandwich and fries .

Its a german deli and market . I got a german special. Forgot what it was called but not too bad. Go if u like german food or some good deli meats . Next time ill try a one of their sandwiches .

Prime rib us good, they give you more than 1 slice. But the medium rare was a little more medium but still good.

Come for breakfast ! You can't beat Big Johns breakfast for $7. It will fill you up for the day. Breakfast from 630am to 1100am

Don't come here for a fast meal. To go orders take just as much time as regular meals. Which is a long time.

It says on their profile that the food is cheap . It is anything but cheap .

The portion was huge but Holsteiner Schnitzel was dry and didn’t have much flavor.

The schnitzel is huge and great!

Horrible. The food is gross and the staff are entitled, dishevled, and extremely rude. I'd rather eat a hot dog at 7-11 than eat at this place. I hope they go out of business.
