Recommended by all SP locals. Wide selection of fruit (sampling is free with minimal pressure to buy), fish , meat, spices, and herbs. Mortadela sandwiches & pastel de bacalhau are local classics here.
Go to the Mercado Municipal in Sao Paulo for all your gourmet needs. The locals seem to have a soft-spot for the place, which has been around since the market opened in 1933. Read more
Coming here was a definite nice surprise. I was recommended not to forage into any eateries on the main floor, but rather to go upstairs for food. I totally recommend eating at Mortadela Brasil!
Excellent choice to know all flavor. Eat and know local food. Best to buy a fresh sea food . Meat and produce. Exist a local for spice food. The parking is so expensive . Take a cab or Uber.
Come here around lunchtime, go upstairs, grab a table at Hocca Bar and prepare yourself for a great lunch--order any of their mortadela sandwiches and get a fresh-squeezed abacaxi/hortelã juice .
Great place to go! If you can make it during the week, even better! Go here for an authentic feeling of what Paulista farmer's market is like. Expect lines ...
Amazing Brazilian market with original pastille and mortadella sandwiches - great exotic fruit and dozens of restaurants upstairs
The place is undoubtedly a must-visit for tourists . However, watch out for rip-offs! The fruit stands talk you into trying their exotic fruits and you might end up having to pay over 200 reais!
Unique market , many brazilians haven't ever seen some fruits you can try and buy here. But some of them are costly and sellers can be angry if one refuses to buy their generous offers.
It’s easy to make a lunch of it at the city ’s main food market : A variety of vendors sell prepared dishes that run the gamut from mortadella sandwiches (a market specialty) to fruity shakes .
Wonder full experience of this place and really tasty food the portion was mastic would of fed four people even though the menu said it was for two
Tudo extremamente caro! Um caqui: R$15,34! É isso mesmo: R$ 15,34 Fuja para as colinas! Everything extremely expensive ! One fruit , just one fruit : U$5,70! Run to the hills !
Mortadella Sandwich with cheese or Pastel Bacalhau (fish ) are one of the best. Recommend. Yummi
Everything for sale at the Mercado is 2-3 times the price of what you will find in the Zona Cerealista. Expensive, aggressive and gross- but worth a visit!
Don't miss your "sandwich de mortadela ". Try some of their exotic fruits , too and look for some "dulce de leche"!
Sample the fruits , check out the meat/seafood market , and go to the 2nd floor to dine. Don't leave without a fruit shake .
A great place to buy fresh fruit , awesome food and desserts .
guys selling fruits will give u free samples and if u decided to buy something, they will charge an extreme absurd price. be careful. it’s ok if you reject, but be aware that prices arent fair
Nice place to eat and have a cold beer upstairs!! Try the Brazilian snack called Pastel of meat!
Incredibly expensive . And the vendors will try to trick you into buying so much fruit at a crazy price. Go to cerealista instead, it's cheaper and nicer!
Amazing variety of ingredients (almost anything you can think about) and also snacks on the top floor, with a beautiful view of the market .
Never buy from the first stalls, shop around first. Vendors will offer you samples of everything if you show interest.
Great cafes and restaurants upstairs (try a Mortadella sandwich !)
You can find the best mortadella sandwich in this market .
Great architecture . Nice and expensive restaurants . Good to buy different kinds of cheese .
Just incredible! Check out the fruit and spice stalls, have an exotic juice and eat a thick mortadela sandwich in the food hall above.
Fascinating food market with wide range of fruits from across Brazil. Mandatory for tourists .
Hoca Bar ! Best pastel , best mortadella sandwich , got to try it!

The Mercadão! The pastel on the second floor is the best in Sampa.
Definately a touristic place to visit
Super nice market ! We can stay whole day here!
Get here early! Shops start closing at 1pm, and everything is closed by 4pm
I love this place! Amazing pastels , fruits , spices, cheese .. everything you can imagine!
As tempted as you may be, avoid sampling the fruit - they will overcharge you.
Great nice market . Here you find almost anything. But fruit is fucking expensive . Paid more here then in Holland! So just go to a loal fruit store.
Go there, it is great ????????
Don't miss the Sadia Mortadella Sabdwich!!
Go to the fruit stands and talk to the sellers. They'll let you try anything. However, the dragon fruit is really expensive .
Beautiful place. Fruits heaven! Wonderful venue to eat and absorb the local flavor.
Mortadella sandwich . Fruits you might not have seen before.

I will recommend this super hot sauce, put a little on your sandwich and the taste is spectacular! They sell it to carry. - Giselula17
Garimpe que encontra ofertas. - Julio Zapata
- Wesley Barbosa
This restaurant is awful, the menu seems to be good, but it it's not. I ordered pasta and it was not cooked enough and so was the beef on the top. The staff is not quiet good like the food is. - Heitor Botti
Go when it's not crowded...which is almost never...but if you get there and there's two of you, order one sandwich, they're huge! - Kevin Pong
