Surreal estate with grounds to match the hubris of the architecture . Amazing for its pompous grandeur as it is for how well preserved much of the estate is
The atmosphere and history are no doubt awe-inspiring when you're here, this goes without saying, but I'd also like to mention the cafe has one of the best grilled cheeses I've ever had!????
Take a stroll among the collection of rare orchids in the Orchidarium, watch sunlight scatter through the stained-glass doors of the tea room , or enjoy lunch with view of the historic swimming pool . Read more
One of the most beautiful and bizzarre museums . Great presentation of what happens when you have too much money
The Mansion is beautiful but the Garden and Bay view outside are the best part of the museum . Bring college ID for discounted price and camera to take gorgeous photos.
Love this amazing place. Grab stuff for a picnic and after you tour the house, set up on the stairs by the bay or in the shade in the gardens and enjoy!
Amazing place!! Beautiful and surprising. Not just a museum but great gardens and a surprise on the backyard ... Worth it!!
The villa here was featured quite a few times in Miami Vice. Check out the episodes "Whatever Works," "Tale of the Goat ," "French Twist," "God's Work," "The Rising Sun of Death," "Heart of the Night".
From a cinematic perspective, Vizcaya is the perfect backdrop for a drug cartel's home. Vizcaya was built from an American railroad baron who imported all his authentic pieces from Europe.
To get the most out of your visit to the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, take the 90-minute audio tour . Take advantage of all the stops that provide more detailed information.
Many hotels recommend Vizcaya. It's interesting, and beautiful, and it is *in* Miami. But there are late-gilded age mansions in many places, so I recommend The Barnacle as a more Miami experience.
I could live here forever, so beautiful! It's better if you come on a weekday, there's a plague of quinceañeras with "burn my eyes" dress colors for their photoshoots on weekends, pretty annoying.
Marvel at this Renaissance villa/garden at the Biscayne Bay has a wide collection of European antiques . Famous with couples who just want a quiet walk and meal as well as a wedding venue!
Be sure to pick up an audio guide from the front gate when visiting and explore the gardens within Vizcaya! Don't forget about Tea for Two on Sunday's!
The biggest draw comes from the accompanying gardens -- a carefully cultivated subtropical paradise. Read more
My first memories of Vizcaya date back to 1960 when I visited the grand estate with my parents. It may well have been the spark that ignited my love of old houses & classical architecture . A must see! Read more
A wonderful escape in a tropical garden . A pedestrian bridge links the garden to the Vizcaya MetroRail station, making it easy to visit from downtown Miami and north (via Tri-Rail).
The house is interesting, the gardens are amazing. Try the Tea on the Terrace .
I didn’t like the museum as much as I liked the gardens . This lace is incredible, and I love to spend my weekends there.
Romantic Vizcaya is an oasis of calm . Enjoy the villa , the sea and the gardens but watch out for dressy quinceañera photo shoots with teenagers celebrating their big birthday.
It is a huge place to see. Worth of 18 dollars admission. Enjoy the life 100 years ago.
Beautiful architecture and scenery
Absolutely beautiful! Wish they would show more of the house. I need a kitchenand pool like them! The garden is a dream!
Absolutely gorgeous! Admission for an adult is only $15 and $6 for a child. The house is filled with treasures from around the world. The gardens and fountains are breathtaking.
Get here early as you'll spend more time than you think because of the people in the house. Also, tour the gardens in the morning to avoid the heat
Incredible gardens , beautiful mansion and great view of the bay . Best place in Miami so far.
Amazing palace and gardens . Audio tour is fantastic.
Built in 1916 as a winter retreat, this lavish villa is a tribute to the Italian Renaissance. The museum contains much of the original furnishings and artwork, and is surrounded by lush, formal garden
Be sure to come with at least a couple of hours to spend. There's more to see than you might at first think.
Bring your student or military ID for a discounted price!
Can't even begin to tell you how fabulous this place is, on par with Versailles in my opinion. The inside is unbelievable, make sure to do the 45 minute tour , well worth it. The grounds are gorgeous a
Rent the audio guide -- worth it for the background and details that bring so much to the experience.
Many sources recommend Vizcaya. It's interesting, and beautiful, but there are late-gilded age mansions all over the country . So I recommend The Barnacle as a more 'only in Miami' experience.
Great old villa right on the water. Relaxing afternoon.
The beautiful gardens and mansion will leave you breathless every time you go. Did you know that part of Iron Man 3 was filmed here?
Do the design/architecture tour . Well worth the extra $5.
There's no word to qualify this extraordinary mansion. Thank you James Deering for your impeccable taste and artistic statement.
Amazing museum ,great landscapes and architecture
After a tour of the villa and 10-acre subtropical paradise on Biscayne Bay , enjoy tea on the terrace overlooking the water.
This place is so gorgeous. Lovely to explore the gardens or just hang out on a nice day.
Lovely flemish tapestries inside, great garden ! Mr Deering must have been really rich!
This is the way americans think of european culture , all kinds are thrown together nonmatter if correct or not / still worth visiting . In bad state needs desperately loads of money to preserve
The place is interesting to visit, but its photos are more impressive than the reality.
Architecture , scenic view , gardens and more. A must see attraction in Miami.
Beautiful gardens . Not a " rushed" crowded facility . Artifacts and.buildings were captivating.. Staff friendly and helpful
Very beautiful mansion !!! Great for lovers of architecture , landscaping and history! =D
The best part are the views , the gardens and learning the history.
If you need cash for the day, stop at the Mary Brickell, Regions Branch or ATM . The branch is located at 901 S. Miami Ave. Don't forget to check in http://4sq.com/JVOBK1.
Come in the colder months as it tends to get hot as you explore the gardens . Also bring bugspray! Beautiful venue for a wedding or party.
