Anchor Grill

Large portions at cheap prices, Anchor Grill is a Covington greasy spoon that nails goetta and eggs , burgers and grilled cheese--with an old-school ambiance and weird puppets.

Love the food, but they only take cash and don't let you to have 2 sides that are both potatoes (e.g. 2X side of fries ) or 2 sides that are both fruits/veggies (e.g. applesauce and macaroni salad ).

The Anchor specialty, a goetta and cheese omlette is pretty delicious. Try a 'Bob and Dickwitch' if you like chicken tenders . Coffee is great, and so is people watching . The bar crowd shows up at 2..

If you're hungry and appreciate friendly late night service this is the place to be. service time will vary but your order is accurate 90% of the time. try the anchor special or the Turkey bacon club .

also smokers if you forget your lighter there are usually matches behind the counter. be sure to ask for them if you're in need. this is also a great place to come after drinking.

I had the Western omelette my first time there about 10 days ago. It was pretty good.

I love their vegetable beef soup . There's real beef in there.

Food is very satisfying. don't expect hand and foot speedy service. Go to ihop if that's what yer lookin for. Support the local mom an pop joints, eat here and leave yer critic at the door.
