One of the best museums in HK! Apparently, free admissions during Wednesdays! Otherwise, the ticket price is a very affordable 10 HKD. Either way (whether you pay or not), the experience is worth it!
One of the best museum i have been too! Cheap entrance for only 10 dollars. don't missed the 3rd floor you will see a lot of old stuff and lots of history rooms about British and japanese war
When traveling, I normally only visit museums on rainy days. Not the case with this museum - GO! Skip the ground floor, start at area #5. Plan to stay two hours.
This museum is phenomenal. It shows you everything from the point that the island was geographically formed to today. You can even walk into sets that show what the city was like in that time period.
Short attention span? Narrow your visit to The Hong Kong Story permanent exhibition and move quickly through the first floor. Upper level is well worth the modest price of admission.
Take a walk through the history of Hong Kong, you’ll start at the beginning of times and end with the current situation. Definitely worth a visit to get the know the city and her history.
Truly a premium museum experience. All exhibits are well planned and executed along a guided, harmonious recommended path, unlike other museums which are quite chaotic. Exceptionally premium.
Fantastic museum - super good introduction to the history of Hong Kong. Definitely a must if you want to know the city a bit more than shopping ;)
The museum is completely bursting with exhibits of Hong Kong History. Plus, since it's located next to the Hong Kong Science museum , you can fit two museum trips into one day!
In the main exhibit , you may want to go quickly through parts 1-3, as 4+ have a ton to offer and deserve a lot of time.
Very comprehensive script, time span from stone age until modern time, with some fine antiquities collection. And free admission on Wednesday !
Unless you're a geology fan, breeze through the first rooms about geological history and get to the cultural rooms. There's a whole grocery store from 2009 and a Chinese medicine shop from 1980.
For a complete natural, geological , and human historical perspective at what makes Hong Kong the metropolis it is today, spend a few hours in this museum in Kowloon: there really is something for all
A highlight of my HK visit. I don't typically love museums but found this one to be very interesting. Worth a visit and super cheap . $10 HKD.
Super cheap and you can learn a ton about HK history . The exhibits about the modern era are especially fascinating.
The cafe here is really traditional and they use disabled staff . I love to eat in the cafe here.
Great fun, lots to see and do. History explained in big exhibitions you walk into and through. The cafe here is good.
Only 10HKD but soo worth it! Will be sure to go back here and will alot more time.
I'd might be biased as a person of HK-heritage. But I learned a lot about the environment my family grew up in. First section might be a bit boring but towards the end it is about everyday life in HK.
Clear information on HK's history. If you belong to a New Territories clan, the Cantonese opera, wedding ceremonies, village houses, Tin Hau and other festivals are a common sight :-)
The museum has something for everyone, depending on your interests. History buffs may want to largely skip the first floor and move to 2nd.
Cool exhibition that explains hong kong history through life size articles, like a small street etc.
Nice history lesson on HK from its beginnings, through to the Japanese occupation and to modern times.
Very nice exhibition of real like streets from the historic periods of Hong Kong and there's airco. So if its too hot outside, visit this museum ;-)
Came for the British Airways exhibition . It's rather small in scale but quite informative. Recommend to take a guided tour if you don't like reading XD
Great museum which takes you from prehistoric times to modern Hong Kong and it is free!
If you finished all the plans in Hong Kong, it is one of options to kill your time. You can spend a half day by $10.
really well done telling the story of HK. it's also completely free!
If you're strapped for time, skip through the bottom level and go to the 2nd level starting with area #5. The first four areas are just geology and archaeology. Interesting but not unique.
A great place to visit to understand the history and evolution of Hong Kong. And it’s free!
Suitable for student. Free Entrance on Wednesdays and closed on Tuesdays. Definitely worth to pay for it, Only at HKD$10/pax.
It's a great starting point, before exploring hong kong to learn some context about where you're about to walk around.
Museum has a strong story telling of exploring the full history of Hong Kong. It's pretty well done
Worthwhile. 5$ entry for students. The first couple of rooms are kind of Geology 101.We preferred the upstairs part of the exhibition , on the 20th century stuff.
When the public areas are closed for major exhibitions , like "The Majesty of All Under Heaven", there is still refuge from the hot weather in the museum shop!
Free exhibition on the history of Hong Kong franchised buses hosted at the main lobby of the museum .
Keep your eye for changing exhibitions , they sometimes how some international shows
Great exhibitions and video presentations! Loved the place.
Amazingly good. A very immersive museum about Hong kong history.
Prepare to spend hours here! Quite a large and detailed museum
Skip first three sections - about geology - and start at #4 for fascinating HK history
'Images Through Time' is a well curated exhibition . Well worth the time. And the catalogue is hefty too.
Whole ground floor is dedicated to prehistory . Modern historical documents and artifacts are on the upper levels.
The permanent exhibits are well-made espeically the recreation of old Hong Kong
Definitely worth it for 10hkd. Unless you have a specific interest in geology , just can skip the first half.
Very interesting and extensive free exhibit on the history of Hong Kong.
Very informative museum . Do it on the first day before visit other attractions
