As mayor, I know all the tips: come at lunch , sit at the bar , eat mole . The special is only $6. Come back early on for happy hour and again, sit at the bar for $2 chicken mole tacos and $3 beer .

The Plato Don is a must and it easily feeds two people. If you're in the mood for something refreshing in the cocktails department, order the Don Pepino. It hits the spot.

Delicious authentic Mexican. Brunch is an absurdly good value : $13 for a huge entree, juice / coffee / tea , and a pastry . Huevos ahogados is a platter of everything delicious, big enough for two.

Tasty tacos ! I had the steak and the napols ???????? Tacos are $3 during happy hour and their draft margarita is $7 which is really good btw. The bartender was really nice too! Will definitely go again

The tacos are top notch, and only $2 during happy hour ($3 normally). Try the sweet chicken mole , the bistec , and the carne enchilada .

Try the pastel azteca. This dish is tortillas layered with roasted poblano peppers , corn , squash blossom , mushrooms , caramelized onions , queso Oaxaca, crema & topped with roasted tomato sauce .

One of our favorite Mexican joints in Brooklyn. Come for brunch or for dinner , order the white sangria , guacamole , and any of the tacos (for dinner ) or the breakfast enchiladas (for brunch ).

Food is always great but boy do they have a killer brunch . Try the Chavela's Omelette (avocado , bacon and cheese ) w/ a side of chorizo hash . Bonus: they put cinnamon in their coffee so it's mad cozy .

The half and half lunch special is surprisingly filling. The pescado torta is tasty (even without all the bread ) and the Flor de Calabaza quesadilla is good with guacamole .

Esquite, fish taco and a flor de calabaza quesadilla - split it at the bar with your main squeeze and wash it down with an icey margarita ????????

Chicken mojo dish, shrimp al ajillo is amazing (I literally eat the sauce with a spoon), tacos are good brunch is decent. Margaritas are on point

Holy cow. I've never been disappointed by anything here, but the Huevos Ahogados brunch item is one of the best Mexican meals or breakfast meals I've ever had! Make it a priority. So good!!

Get the chile relleno (roasted poblano pepper stuffed with queso fresco , served in tomato sauces with rice & beans) or chicken mole .

Got a fish taco , quesadilla (more like empanada ) w/ rice and beans for $12. For those who want a little bit of everything, mix and match! Their veggie plate is great as well .

the huevos divorciados are the perfect brunch choice for when you just can't commit to one sauce... and the sangria is always delicious. Lots of vegetarian choices , too (for brunch , lunch , and dinner )

Saturdays around 4pm it gets very crowded , had to wait 15min for a table. However it was worth it! Great ceviche , chicken mole taco and the churros with chocolate sauce are to die for!

Ask for any margarita with ‘light’ agave . I like some heat and they offered the jalapeño tequila , which was incredible. Great food (chicken enchiladas w/ mole sauce ).

Love the sangria , love the mole chicken enchiladas . I have yet to try much else because this combination is always perfect, but the family and friends I've brought here have never been disappointed.

The molé here is so good. Also the margaritas are not too sweet and well mixed. Good service and nice warm feeling room.

For eats, give the chilaquiles a look. For drinks, go for the margarita (on tap ) or michelada . Pan dulce also available during weekend brunch .

Do: add smoked trout to the guac , come for the $2 taco happy hour or the amazing $6.95 lunch specials . Don't: underestimate how often you will eat here if you leave in the area/delivery range

The steak option for brunch is the most ridiculous bang for your buck. Everything here is great too regardless.

Worth the trip to the neighborhood . Tamales and a side of rice and beans makes for a killer light dinner . Polish it off with a mescal cocktail .

Mexican corn here is tasty, thanks to the chipotle mayo . They serve cactus here, which is different & good. Quesadillas are small, but I liked the squash blossom . Shrimp ceviche is not worth ordering.

Good food, good portions, good drinks, great prices, good service . There is normally a wait (even for bar seats ) but it's worth it #whycrownheights

Good happy hour deals and strong margaritas . Micheladas are flavorful without being too spicy . Quesadilla portions are small..order the guac or a trio of salsas to round out the meal.

Happy hour tacos for $2 are good. I like the chicken mole , veggie and fish best. House margaritas on tap are kinda gross. Get a fresh made one. Guacamole is awesome too but pricey .

Sangria and guac are a must. The prices for food were pretty reasonable. Milanesa sandwich and shrimp tacos were yummy.

Reasonably priced, great food, good vibe, lovely and pleasant servers. My first time here and it won’t be my last.

Chavela's does Mexican classics well and inexpensively—not reinventing the wheel, perhaps not worth traveling for, but reliable and tasty while you're there.

Best Mexican in the neighborhood . I especially like the tortilla soup .

Arrive before 11am, slightly after that the brunch crowd will fill up the whole place. Amazing drinks, amazing food, well-priced. Try everything.

Must add, the food was done very well (excellent guacamole , good tacos , many vegetarian friendly options and friends LOVED the Plato Don ), but, unfortunately, worst margarita I've ever had.

You never want to go to another Mexican spot after this. The food is amazing, the drinks are on point, and the ambiance is perfect and festive .

the Sopa Tortilla is verrrrrrry special. Liquid green enchiladas w perfect tortilla strips IN THE BEST WAY.

Great value and great food. Ambience is very chill and anything you get is good- tacos or enchiladas are always a solid choice as well .

Vegan options abound (with some minor modifications): Plato Don and Nopales salad are my faves.

Fantastic service, great brunch options, strong margaritas . I loved the poached eggs with Mexican style hash browns and brown rice .

Great old fashioned. Food was amazing. Roasted chicken with rice and beans is to kill for. Orchata was very good as well as the hand breaded chicken sandwich !

Come here for margs galore and yummy Mexican staples (brunch or dinner ). For a delightfully refreshing cocktail , try the Don Pepino.

What you want: Pitcher of 1/2 Sangria & 1/2 Margarita and order of the fresh made guacamole & chips . If you do tacos , plan on getting some crazy hot habenero sauce on the side.

This place has the most yummy drinks! I think the food is just ok, it's very bland. However, the drink keep bringing me back, esp the margarita and sangria mixed drink .

I usually say, see for yourself. Screw that! you need to go, be impregnated by the most delicious food baby you can dream of, and let the night (or afternoon) slip away with a pitcher of margarita

Red sangria was excellent. Also recommend pork enchilada taco . Very accommodating for children which is very much appreciated.
