Second Beach

Exit 7, through the second parking lot , is the best spot. It's not too close to the two main entrance points (which can get crowded ) and has less algae in the water.

This is the best beach close to Newport ! The beach is deep, the sand is FULL of clams , and the water is perfectly warm.

Considered the cool surfer’s beach , this shoreline has magnificent views of St. George’s cathedral , and offers the best waves in Newport . Grab a Dell’s lemonade from the stand. Read more

Park up at Purgatory Chasm or St. George's and walk down to the Surfer 's End.

Come before 11a on weekends, bring your bike or your suitcase Jetsons suitcase car because parking is beeotch.
