Castaic Lake Recreation Area
Run by the County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation, Castaic Lake is a beautiful state water reservoir located just north of Santa Clarita. Along with providing fresh water to local communities, Castaic Lake is dedicated to providing the public with a wonderful place to have fun!

Fresh air , lots of trees and sun and sand, picnic areas with bbq grills, swimming , boating, hiking , etc. All for the low cost of $12 a car load. Great family fun.
If you mountain bike , try the competitive loop. Be sure you bring your legs too, there are some steep sections.
Nice place to but camp grounds are too hot
Gorgeous , take a picnic lunch and go for a walk :)
Only open on weekends. Last weekend is labor day before closing for the winter.
