Frank Lloyd Wright's Unity Temple

Unity Temple (1906-1908) proved that concrete can be beautiful. The lack of windows reduces street noise while stained glass windows in the roof and clerestories provide natural light to parishioners.

Since 2019, a UNESCO World Heritage site.Unity Temple (1905-08), strikingly geometric in form, was Wright’s first public building to feature exposed concrete , announcing a new era of modern innovation

Not to be missed Frank Lloyd Wright. A masterpiece. Do 1 hour guided tour - exterior & interior. The Interior is awesome - light from skylights above is beautiful. NOT MAYAN INFLUENCED.

In recounting his experiences with Unity Temple , Wright once stated that this particular design was the first time he ever realized that the real heart of a building is its space, not its walls.

Beautiful and completely different at night in the snow. The entire bldg glistens.
