The Frozen Coffee at this Williamsburg joint is the gold standard in frozen drinks . This bourbon-and-coffee filled slushie is topped with coffee grounds and more bourbon , named after Willie Nelson. Read more

Village Voice

This bar screams 1970s in the best way possible. Honky tonk ambiance in the middle of Williamsburg, it's great. Skinny Dennis was also listed on The Village Voice's top ten jukebox bars for 2013!

Melanie Bouley

definitely an all time Williamsburg favorite. Inexpensive brews, Willie's Frozen Coffee , One Pound Margs , kitchy deco, games, and honky tonk. Great any time of day, and it really bumps weekend nights.

Eva Mili

best dive bar in Williamsburg, featuring live country/bluegrass (those nights are best) and cheap ass drinks to make you forget your achin heart. go for the 24 oz Narraganset for $4 or the bourbon tea

Cindy lau

Coffee . With whiskey . Need I say more? Also they have sweet tea and bourbon drinks served in ginormous mason mugs. Get that as well . Now go dance your butt off to the live band !

Olga Strachna

Come here for a relaxing fun night with a few close friends and definitely get the frozen coffee or the mint bourbon iced tea . Oh and ask for peanuts if you're in a snack mood.

Will Mahony

One of the finer and most crowded watering holes in Williamsburg. Live Music can be hit or miss. Their mudslides are always a great way to get the night started

Garrison Price

One of the best in NYC. Texas bar , order the micheladas . If you don't know about the puzzle under the cap then sorry. Go on Sunday afternoon for exceptional live music . They have soft pretzels .

Alex Robertson

coffee drink is good but the fucking DEAL is the 24oz. of coors, which during happy hour (12-7 every day) is THREE dollars—that’s a 2 dollar pint folks

Debbie

A foursquare check-in cannot express my love for Skinny Dennis. It's apparently very douchey on a weekend but I'm calling it now: Willie's Frozen Coffee is the new Turkey 's Nest Margarita .

Christina Bentch

Me with my new skinny Dennis hat! National reserve has a residency here on Friday night. All the bands are fun and bar crowd itself is great!

Joshua

They have everything you would want, live music , froze coffee ( a must), peanuts and cheap drafts including the banquet beer . They also have good craft beer too.

Jim Taylor

It’s got the customary Dive Bar game selection (Skee-Ball, Big Buck Hunter ), quality live music springing up in the corner of the room at the drop of a hat, and a floor full of used peanut husks. Read more

Danielle Davis

Awesome live music most nights. Free peanuts you throw shells on the floor. Friendly bartenders . Awesome atmosphere - one of my favorite spots in NYC! Try the frozen coffee drink!

Garrison Price

Brings Austin to Willamsburg. My favorite bar is BK. Great juke box and fabulous live music that is not always country . Bourbon Sweet Tea makes for a nice Sunday afternoon, great Micheladas !

Gothamist

Cowboy up to the jukebox and fire up some twangy Randy Travis, Dolly Parton or Steve Earle to complete the boot-scootin’ scene. Read more

As far as new bars go, this place feels like its been here for 50 years. Call it kitsch or call it nostalgia, you can't beat cheap booze, southern fried tunes , and vintage decor . Cool your boots man.

Cadie Thompson

Come before it gets too crowded and get a seat for the live set. Prob one of the only places where you can still hear good country .

Brian Grogan Jr.

Frozen spiked coffee is delicious, awesome country music on weeknights. Consistently draws a lively , good looking crowd. My go-to hook-up bar ! ????

CITY GRIT

Who knew you could find a good old Honky Tonk in NYC ? We also found one of our favorite pick me ups – the Frozen Coffee which is much needed after two or three Tito’s Lemonades .

Vedrana Plestic

Such a chill , quirky and cosy bar in Williamsburg! Just what we were looking for :)

John Brophy

Beer was good, live music was amazing! We saw a skiffle / jug band play their washboards and kazoos. Check this place out!

Arash Narchi

Really well priced drinks. And who doesn't love live music and peanuts all over the floor! Great spot

Ray Lin

It's definitely honky, and it's definitely tonky. Sometimes country bands will play. If a weird night out in Williamsburg is what you seek, let Skinny Dennis be your captain.

DoubleDeuce

Thoughts: fun jukebox , great playlist when the jukebox isn't playing, cheap drinks , great pretzel , it's OK to throw your peanut shells on the floor.

Meghan Kathleen

Willies Frozen Coffee cocktail is not to be missed! Oslo coffee + Bourbon make for a refreshing, delicious summertime drink.

Katie Chow

It's hard to go wrong here with cheap , delicious, and generously-poured drinks like the frozen coffee and bourbon lemonade . One and done.

Will Scholl

Can get excessively crowded during busy times. The clientele leaves a bit to be desired for a place that otherwise has a cool atmosphere.

Josh Fajardo

Amazing Sunday night fun with a live band and incredible specialty drinks . Also a unexpected, reasonable prices

tobias brusegard

Love this place. The music is awesome, and it wasn't super crowded . Mind you it was a Monday night. Shiner on tap . Very happy.

Ryan Eick

I really like this place. Straightforward, reasonably priced, and country music

Andrew Mocny

Live music , Texas

Kate Furman

Bourbon sweet tea will help you forget all your pains, and the rest of your night.

Autumn Stanford

You can get kolaches (From Brooklyn Kolache Co.) every Sat from 1pm to 3:45. Kolaches and beer

Steven Lambiase

honkey tonk and cheap beers . Whiskey/Coffee slushie is great. The one pound margaritas will put you on the floor.

Michael G.

Rare to find a honky tonk in NYC ! This place was great with a fun crowd.

Leah Schultheis

Skinny Dennis is my church--the music my hymns and the frozen coffee my baptismal water. And yeah. I'd dunk myself in it if I could.

IrmaZandl ZandlSlant

we went for happy hour post northside festival so it was early. looks like a really fun place, great staff .

Gordon Mei

Willie's frozen coffee is pretty hype. Delicious iced bourbon coffee . Ask for the peanuts . Try to beat my Galaga score.

Alex Robertson

well drinks are also three dollars during happy hour . the coffee drink is $7

Maxwell Foxman

Get the free Peanuts . When I was there, there was lots of singing and dancing to classic country .

Chet Mancini

Get a Shiner Bock . This bar is like every bar in Austin—a little bit of Texas in Williamsburg

Donny Dont

Get the coffee bourbon and the lemonade vodka , subtly strong! Great live music !

Trey

Have two alcohol-laced novelty drinks, put a few bucks in the jukebox and sing silently in your head, as to not be judged.

Kelly Marks

Amazing bar ! Cool decor, affordable drinks and good music . Great addition to the neighborhood !

Joe Brolgs

Solid country music dive bar . They get good bands on the weekends playing shit like the Doors and Johnny Cash.

Luke

The frozen coffee , boozy iced tea , and micheladas are show stealers, but the tap selection is no slouch

Rick Feltner

Sitting at the bar watching New Yorkers sing along to Patsy Cline is sort of surreal. I love this place!

Luke Kingma

Favorite bar in town . Come Friday at 8, stay until the growing crowds drive you out.

Brian McDonald

Great drinks at good prices. Don't use the restrooms if you're a prude. Vintage naked ladies hung up for some reason?????
